Okay, so I ordered that knife again from Sears which can be returned if that other place does happen to go through. I am going to assume that I am not going to see that first knife and that I won't get my $ back. I found one on Sears.com yesterday and ordered it for store pick up so there was no shipping charge. I was pretty worked up and missed a key part, being that the store delivery date was December 22-25! What if it doesn't get here by the 24th? UGH. So, I went to Sears.com again today and it looks like I can get it and pay for expedited shipping (adding $8.99) and it is guaranteed to get here by the 20th.
Would you do it or would you hope that the first one got to the store by/on the 24th? I guess my question is, would you think that $8.99 would be worth it to know for sure it would get there on time. It's basically wasted $, but I'm starting to get really depressed thinking that the one thing that he really wanted, won't be there.
If I do but it AGAIN, there is a slim chance that I will have THREE by Christmas. Ha.

Re: About that dumb knife again, what do you think?
If I were you:
-Cancel the in-store knife and order the expedited shipping one. Even if it does come in, is saving $9 really worth the time / headache of driving to Sears and picking it up during the last few days before the holidays? I'd rather not stress about it.
-Call your bank about the first knife. I'm pretty sure you'll get your money back if you never get the product. Most debit cards are protected the same way your credit card is - fraud is fraud, and it never hurts to ask.
Thank you. I will call them. First, though, I'm going to give them a little time. It hasn't really been that long, but with their complete lack of communication and with the reviews I've read online, it seems unlikely that it will come. The Sears one can be returned if it does come, though.
TTC #2 for a million years: SA normal, CD 23 bloodwork shows nothing amiss, ovulation detected. Next step: ? maybe CD3 bloodwork to check eggs? All out of pocket, so limited IF tests/treatments.
This totally sounds like something that would happen to me/how i would respond. It's so frustrating when you feel like you've done your research and things still don't work out...
For me, i would just cross my fingers that it's in on time, but i don't care much about the date (esp. not for a gift for close family; i can give it to them later if i need to), but i think that it is more important to you, and since that is the gift you want to give him, you might feel better knowing it's on time. Then return the extra(s).
Best sound ever: baby's heartbeat! (Heard @ 10w1d)
This has happened numerous times in my family. We just wrap up a picture of the gift and say that it's on its way. I'm pretty sure your husband will understand! Good for you for going to this much trouble thinking about it. I would hope for the best and wait for it to arrive. If it doesn't, print out a pic and wrap it up!
this. i would printout the receipt, cross everything out, and highlight expected delivery date, then stick it in his stocking. that way he knows you at least tried
