My DH hates our star topper for our Christmas tree because it was a "this will do for now" purchase I made about five years ago. It's lame, but better than nothing.
I really want an angel one, but DH wants one that lights up. It's tough to find a tasteful one that also lights up - kwim? It can't be huge either, our house is small and our fake tree is pretty small, and our ceiling are not high.
I saw one at the Christmas Store in Old Town Alexandria that was almost right - an angel, that tastefully lit up, but it also moved (!!) and that part was slightly off-putting. I could live with with the animated feature, however, it also was much too tall.
If anyone sees angel tree toppers that (tastefully) light up - will you page me on here?
I am not totally opposed to a star by the way - I could get on board with nice light up star ones too...
Our lame-ish current one is sort of like this:

Re: In search of tree topper - anyone see one in your shopping travels?
I have a light up (and slightly animated) angel tree topper that is only about 9 or 10 inches high. She just moves her arms open and closed (and her wings move with them).
I bought her at Merrifield in Falls Church last year.
You can see her in the pic- she only looks so large because it is a small (5') tree.
Stand up for something you believe in.
