Re: Babies and bumps (to-be)

  • Yay MO!

I'm doing well, now that my bronchitis seems to have calmed down.  I've hardly even coughed today.

LO continued to be stubborn with my follow up u/s for my a/s.  It took another full hour to get the shot they needed of his nose and lips.  He kept his hands up in front of his face the entire time.  Profile shots?  No problem, he'll even pose, but full frontal face-age? Not happening.

I'm starting to feel a LOT more movement now, which is really neat.  I sat there for a good 5 minutes after lunch yesterday just feeling him bouncing around.

In nursery news, we might have access to get the room ready sooner than expected.  Erin's teachers have offered to give her that last 500 hours she needs to be able to go out and get an apprenticeship.  Apparently she's just that much of a pain in the ass to them that they'd rather just fast-track her and get her out!  She's going home to look for a job next week, so FX she finds something!

Here's a picture from last week.  Not much has changed, still waiting to "pop".

  • P had his 15 months shots on monday and he is doing goo. Doctor said he is meeting milestons, but he is still tiny. He is in the 10th percintile for his height and below the 5th percentile for his weight and head. They pricked his finger and are sending it off to the hormone doctor just to make sure everything is okay. Doctor said he is not worried at all P is just small!

Jordan had his follow up from having his tonsils removed on monday and everything healed up fine and looks great. We don't have to go back to that doctor again :)

Jordan is more than ready for christmas and rearranges the gifts under the tree at least twice a day. He is really wishing for snow but since its 71 today I am not sure he is going to get it. He bought P a thomas the train book that makes noise and a thomas the train car that he can push around and has a button that makes thomas talk. He wrapped it up by himself monday night and its under his tree in his room. I thought it was sweet.

  • Awe Crystal, that is so cute! I tell ya, there's nothing quite like "Brotherly Love".

I'm still dealing with the same stuff here. Gibs doctor changed his medication 3 times already so I've been trying to get the doc to send in a letter as to why this happened to the therapist. The therapist is trying to get Gibson into a ADHD specialist and if that doesn't help he's supposed to see a psychiatrist. It's such a long process and I just wish it was done already. It's been over a year since I started this process.

  • Good news, I think the cold the boys have is starting to find its way to the door!

Daycare is going well, and I can already see a difference in the boys. They are starting to play "nicer" with each other.

Zach is starting to figure out what the color red is.  When he is playing with his mega blocks you can ask him where is red, and he will give you the red one.  He is also trying really hard to talk.  He isn't quite there yet, but I think we may have a word besides "mama and dada" very soon.

Christian is working on saying Thank you.  It's so sweet.

These boys amaze me every day.  I can't believe they will be 17 months on Saturday. Where did my babies go?

  • Congrats again MO! I couldn't be happier for you!

Another BFN for me again this morning. I'm 15dpo with no sign of AF but my temperature did go down a little this morning. If AF doesn't surprise me today I'll test again tomorrow or  Friday.

I've been having a ton of phantom systems but most could be AF systems as well, so I we'll just have to wait and see!

In the meantime if anyone wants to chart stalk me and offer any thoughts or opinions I'd be glad to hear them.

  • I suppose I'll tip toe in and give an update...

I've pretty much been on total edge for the last few weeks.  After our First Tri Screening (nt scan) my bloodwork came back with elevated results for DS.  It wasn't screen positive, but for my age it should have been 1:600 and it was 1:85, screen positive was 1:50.  So I waited the 4 wks for my second round and was just called on Monday that I'm screen negative.  A screen positive this time would be 1:270 and I was 1:700.  I can't believe it jumped so much, I was in total shock.  I was hoping it would decrease, but I thought it'd be like 1:100. So no amnio needed for us, we'll just look for more markers at the A/S (sched 12/29) and hope that the baby is developing properly.

I'm feeling flutters a lot this week, started over the weekend. I also really popped the last week or two, but some days (clothes) it looks much bigger than others.  Today I'm wearing old jeans buttoned, slightly uncomfortable, but interesting they still fit.... (pic below is from monday)

     image

Not much else going on, just waiting now for the A/S to make sure everything is okay.  We'll find out the sex at New Years (my birthday).  I'm giving the envelope to my BF to pick out an outfit for us to open at midnight (she's so excited to know before us, ha)... little birthday present slash happy new year (and hopefully good luck) gift.   I'm hoping to start cleaning out the office and maybe get it painted that week btwn xmas and nye since I'd like it to have time to air out and I don't know how much longer I'll be able to get on the ladder and have balance. P can't edge.

I guess it depends on what your chart does tomorrow.  The giant spike at 12 DPO looks like a good thing, but since it's coming down now it's hard to say.  I knew I would get my BFP when I tested because on a day when my temp would normally be falling from the post-O jump it went up even higher.

How many months have you been charting?  How long is your LP usually?

  • raynes and ECHC - I love the bumps!  You both look great.

ECHC - that's great news about the latest screen.  I hope all continues to look good at the next scan.

I'm just plodding through another 2ww, and will probably test on Saturday (at 14DPO).  This is the first cycle I'm not entirely sure of my O date since I was travelling back to Can/US on my expected O date, so my temps would have been meaningless.

Thanks Raynes. This is my 8th cycle charting. My LP has been anywhere from 9 to 14 days. The one time my LP was 14 days I started spotting a day or two before that, so this is by far the longest I've had.

  • Aw, I'm loving the bump pics too!

I'd be much happier this week, as my m/s seems to have disappeared (yay!), but after one day back at school this week, I picked up a violent cold and I'm suffering through headache, fever and sore throat (my least favourite symptom) right now. I feel so badly for my students. I've SUCKED this month for them.

Also, our water keeps getting turned off as they're digging up the sewer lines down the street. I desperately need a shower (and a drink of water), and I'm SOL.

  • We had an appointment on Monday and DH got to see the LO for the first time since it was more than just a little blob.  The doctor said that everything looked perfect and the baby has a strong HB.  We won't find out the sex of the baby until the a/s at 20 weeks.  It is going to be so hard to wait!

I'm starting to get a bit anxious because DH and I will be moving back to the States when I am at around 34 weeks!  To top it off, most of the housing won't be available for us until about 2 weeks before my due date.  So there is a chance we won't have a nursery or any of our household goods by the time the the baby gets here.  It is going to be such a huge transition moving back to the States after 6 years but a new baby will be such a change.  I'm starting to really get nervous.

  • Everything is going well for now. With the exception of his new 4am wake ups. He had been STTN and then all of a sudden he stopped. I believe it is from teething and the tylenol wearing off. He has 2 rather large bumps on his lower gums keep growing as the days go on. I am seriously ready for them to pop through though because I'm tired of him being in so much pain.

  • I'll jump in too. this may be totally negative and discouraging for some, haha. sorry in advance!

we are on cycle #14 with no luck. I charted for a few months and then got entirely too stressed out about it, so we took it easy for a month or two. we've been trying really hard (har har har) the last few months and although my cycles are all over the place length wise (from 26 days to 36 days), I generally know when I O. I typically O later in my cycle, like CD16-CD19. I tried using OPKs but got conflicting results numerous times - I would have a +OPK and then EWCM a week later, so I decided to listen to my body instead.

throwing in full time work and part time school (for both of us) has definitely made things more challenging, but we've made it a priority to no avail. this month, I'm pretty sure I O'd at CD16 and we yoga'd on CD15 and CD 17, so FX that this is our month.

anyway. to say that I'm frustrated is an understatement. I have my annual lady parts wellness exam on Friday, so I'm going to discuss our concerns with her and see what she says. I'm going to also ask for some blood work in hopes that we can either confirm or rule out any issues on my end.

we also made the mistake of telling people that we were TTC when we first started, so of course we get the "no baby yet?!" questions ALL THE TIME. talk about a slap in the face.

  • Mandee--((HUGS)) and good luck at your annual...and more importantly, this cycle!

Bailey--My fingers are still crossed for you!

Raynes and EHCH--You two are too cute!

Nothing new on my since Monday.  I got back next Monday for my third beta and if it is good, an u/s shortly after that  I would love to have an u/s before Christmas, but we'll see...and I am also super nervous about the u/s, since that is when we discovered the m/c last time.

Other than exhaustion, no other symptoms yet, which is good I guess, but also makes me a little irrationally nervous.  Right now I am just trying to not think too much about it until we know more....

  • Late update because it was grandma day but here goes!

Darian has been learning and changing so much lately. In the past week, he's more or less learned how to put himself to sleep. I did it for the first time by accident last Wednesday night, when I was home alone and hungry - I put him down to get a snack, and by the time I got back, he was asleep. So instead of having to rock him to sleep, we can put him down (if he's tired) and he'll fuss for a bit but usually soothe himself to sleep within 10-20 minutes. It's AMAZING, life seems so much easier now.

And he's rolling all over the place now so I have to start keeping a closer eye on him!

He's 5 months old today so I did a little photo shoot... here's an outtake :)

  • Loving all these updates and adorable bumps!

    Mandee - people suck

I'm just over 22 weeks now and really starting to show.  I've got my next OB appointment next Wednesday.  I've generally been feeling pretty well but just get so tired very easily.  I have still been keeping up with my running/gym routine 5-6 days a week.

I think I might be feeling some movement.  Yesterday I felt like there was some twitching inside my uterus but any feelings like that have been very sporadic.

Here's my bump...just noticed how baggy my pants are.  Ignore the toy mouse on the floor.  lol

  • Late (as usual)

Thanks for all the love ladies.

Also, I love all the cute bumps today!

Mandee: I've been keeping you in my thoughts lately, and missing your face around here. I hope you get some answers on Friday.

Our big thing, aside from everything being final is that Myles is now STTN, and his littler personality is really coming out. He's starting to sit unsupported, and he babbles so much I love it! That's about it.

  • We've had a miserable time since Friday night. DS came down with the cold DH and I both had. Although, I think DH is getting a 2nd round of it, since he really only had the runny nose the first time. If this thing keeps making its rounds, we're going to have to go into quarantine mode.

DS went down tonight on his tummy, because he seemed to sort of like it the last 2 nights. The problem is he can roll really easy, so he bonked his head into the crib twice while waking up. Fail. So now he's swaddled and back on his back like before. He fussed a bit, but I think he passed out from trying to bust loose. Fingers crossed he stays down for the night.

I honestly need sleep before DH and I start having major problems. I get super mean when I'm tired and almost broke a door with my foot last night I was so angry at him. His idea is to let Jackson cry it out, and I'm not ready to do that yet, nor do I think it's okay when he's sick. I slept in the guest room to fight the urge to smother DH in his sleep.

    Ugh. end rant. sorry.

In better news, Jackson is usually full of smiles and all about momma lately. I get in the cuddles while I can.

  • Snoopy: Just want you to know you're not alone.  There have been plenty of times I want to knock DH in the head.  Sometimes, they just plain don't get it.  I hope you get some good sleep soon!
