Re: What are you reading right now?!

  • ::sigh:: I wish I had time to relax and read. I can barely find time to get a shower most days.

  • I'm reading The Help.  Finally.  It's long though so it's taking me forever to get through, but I am really enjoying it.

Next up is Sarah's Key which Lando generously lent me :-)

And I'd highly recommend Mindy Kaling's book if you want to laugh.  I want her to be my BFF.

  • I'm currently reading the Stand which I'll probably still be reading in a year.  I'm also currently reading Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close by Jonathan Safran Foer on the kindle.

I think the Philly library carries kindle ebooks on their website.  Definitely check that out.

  • I read Mindy Kaling's book on vacation, it was great.

I also read the Hunger Games series.  I think I can loan them to you if you want.

  • The Hypnotist by Lars Kepler. He's supposedly the next Steig Larssen (sp?). So far, so good.

I read all three in a matter of days! The first book is by far the best and I can't wait for the movie to come out.  :)

This is a great question since a lot of my friends have kindles. DH has an iPad with the kindle app. Will he be able to share books with me as well?

Is it weird that I have zero desire to read any of the 'The Girl with the..." books?

If you got to Manage Your Kindle account on amazon, it'll show your library.  Under "Actions", if the book is lendable, it will let you do so.  I think you need the person you are lending to's email address.

Nah, I have no desire to read Twilight.  Or the Help.

The first "girl with" book was slow to start but picked up after 100 pages or so, the second book was the best and the third kind of dragged.

See, I thought the 3rd one was the best!  Totally agree about the 1st one, the beginning drags but then you get sucked in.  I had some issues with the ending too

I just finished The Time Traveler's Wife - I thought I would hate it but I really enjoyed it.  I guess I thought it would be super sappy and lovey but it wasn't.

I am currently reading my first Jodi Picoult book - House Rules.  It's not what I would normally read but it was recommended so much that I decided to try it

Next up is The Immortal Life of Henrietta Lacks

  • I am halfway through House Rules and liking it so far, though I have to keep putting it aside to read other things for work.

Next up will be Unbroken by Laura Hillenbrand.  I've heard this book is really good.

I feel the same was as Eagles about the the Dragon Tattoo series.  I totally fought through the first 100 pages, but then it picked up.  I read the second book in 2 days.  The third book took me a bit longer, but that's because it wasn't summer vacation anymore :)

  • I am reading "The One That I Want" by Allison Winn Scotch.  I believe someone on this board recommended it at some point.  I literally just started it.

I just finished "The Bride's House" by Sandra Dallas.  It was a good story idea, but I found some of it a little hard to believe and thought it could have been written better in some places.  It was my first Sandra Dallas read.

Not sure what I want to pick up next.  I am getitng a Kindle for Christmas, so really have to think about this one.
