Hi ladies, it's Jane! It's been FOR-EVAH since I was on here and I have a few days off of work with hardly anything to do so I thought I would check in. I feel like there's so much to catch up on...it's been a whirlwind of a year. I know I'm friends with most of you on FB but I don't share everything on there...ya know...privacy things.
So here's a run down:
-Had a job at a bakery. It was wonderful. They fired me. I freaked out about money -and went back to waiting tables at Friday's. Sucko.
-Started really investing a lot of time into photography and now I own my own photography business that has really grown in the first year. I finally feel like I've found what I want to do in life and it's proving to be really successful.
-Over the summer I was diagnosed with Melanoma. I had 2 moles removed and at one point it had gotten so bad it had spread to a lymph node in my throat so that had to be removed. I have always taken good care of my skin in the sun, but this is just a lesson that it could happen to anyone. Get your moles checked out ladies!
-In July my lifelong friend was diagnosed with cancer and in August I had a fundraiser to raise money for her. So people donated money to shave all of my hair off and I went completely bald. She is so worth it. Now the hair is growing back and I'm having fun with it all.
-My husband and I have been having some problems. It's been quite the roller-coaster figuring out what to do. We've talked divorce. Not sure what the plan is yet which majorly sucks. We love each other but we realize our relationship has been more of a friendship and not a marriage. We both want VERY different things in life and we wonder if we let each other go or sacrifice some of those things to stay together. The whole experience has been really heartbreaking but I'm trying to keep my eye on that proverbial light at the end of the tunnel.
-I got a new job 3 weeks ago at an upper scale Pizza place here in St. Louis and I love it. It's great money, much easier hours and a good company to work for.
-J is actually losing his job at the end of this month. He gets three months of severance but it is still very stressful. They've talked to him about offering him a job in Atlanta but we're waiting on more details. That just adds to the chaos of our relationship. There's a side of us that thinks maybe if we moved to Atlanta it'd be like a clean slate and we could start to work things out. Or maybe we'll get there and realize that we really just don't belong together.
All in all, this year has been complicated, stressful, sad, and I'm ready for a new year. Sorry if this was depressing mostly, but I really wanted to say hi and catch up.
Re: Long time no talk!
Hey Jane! Sorry things are so complicated for you right now. I hope you and your husband are able to figure out what will be best for you both.
I've seen the pictures of your shaved head on fb--you totally rock the look! I would never be that daring!
Sorry to hear about the melanoma. My sister just had it a few years ago and had a few lymph nodes removed, but she's been fine ever since and I hope you will be too!
Nothing new here--I'm just getting back from vacay, trying to catch up on posts and then post a recap/review of our time and resort.
hope you guys can figure it out so that you are both able to be happy. There are a few girls here that can definitely talk to you about their experiences.
I am glad the photography is going well
This is so spooky, I was just wondering what you were up to today and then I come here and you've posted! Woh!
You've had a crazy year! I don't know much about melanoma, is it something that is removed with your lymph node or is there more treatment or???
Sorry to hear about your friend, hope she comes through okay.
I hope you and your H do find the "light at the end of the tunnel" soon. Whatever that means for you, just as long as you both can be happy.
