That was uncomfortable to read....

One of the doctor's I work with forwards emails on a regular basis, mostly of a religious nature. Most are re-affirming style emails, but the one she sent today was just....WOW. It was trying to claim that Obama cancelled the observance of the National Day or Prayer but instead participated in a National prayer service specifically geared towards Muslims etc etc. Reading it just made me really uncomfortable knowing how full of misinformation it is. After much debate, I finally responded and asked the readers to follow up with: http://www.snopes.com/politics/obama/prayerday.asp

It just truly amazes me that this doctor whom I respect and hold in high esteem would believe this crap. You may not like all the decisions/policies/beliefs the President holds - but please make sure you don't like him for REAL reasons....

Re: That was uncomfortable to read....

  • I get super uncomfortable when my  family/friends spread this kind of stuff. Political, religious or otherwise. I may not agree with the other side, but I prefer to disagree with facts over fabrication. I always reply all with a link to snopes. Certain people who were notorius for emails like that either learned to check it out before forwarding or the learned to take me off the email list. I was reluctant to reply that way, but it just got to be too much!

  • Yeah, to my recollection this is the first blatantly incorrect email that she's sent. But seriously!! I mean, I had no clue that she felt this way. Again, I am okay if she doesn't like things based on actual policies etc. I am glad that I replied, and am curious what she says tomorrow when she is in our office...
