I love my grandma! I only have one grandparent living. She lives in Palm Springs. Her last husband (3rd, I think) died about 7 years ago. I have been trying to get her to move back up here, but she doesn't want to. I worry about her. She's late 80s. Anyway, she usually bakes stuff and sends right after Thanksgiving. I was getting worried, because we had sent her a package and she usually replies right away to correspondence. Just this morning I asked my dad if he had heard from her recently. He said he had, so I felt better. Just a half hour or so ago, the mailman bangs on the door with TWO boxes from her. Both full of baked goodness, but one also had two pearl necklaces (one for me and one for my sis). She had a really long string and she had it re-strung into two. They are gorgeous. Anyway, it's such a great start to my Christmas!

TTC #2 for a million years: SA normal, CD 23 bloodwork shows nothing amiss, ovulation detected. Next step: ? maybe CD3 bloodwork to check eggs? All out of pocket, so limited IF tests/treatments.

Aww how sweet. I'm glad she's doing well and you can still celebrate with her long distance. I miss the hell out of my grandma..it will be a year since she passed away on Tuesday. I also can't help thinking of how grandpa is going to handle Christmas this year, I know last year was a blur.
Maybe I'll surprise him by baking and sending him some stuff..
That must have been so hard to lose your grandma this time of year. I hope mine never dies.

That is SO sweet!!
I have one living grandma too, and at this moment she is baking hundreds of Christmas cookies for her grandkids. I feel incredibly lucky to still have her (she's 88) and I don't know what we'll do when she passes away.

Do it! Call him, too, to let him know you're thinking of him. Share fond memories of your grandma with him. What's so hard for people who've lost someone is that people are often afraid to mention them, but it's important for both of you to share the love and memories, that's she not forgotten.
My dad's mom died when I was very little and she frightened me because she had alzheimer's. It makes me sad that I was afraid of her but my mom tells me my grandma loved me very much. My mom's mom died almost 10 years ago. Due to weird crappy circumstances, I ended up not getting to go to her funeral. I wasn't super close to her since I only saw her once a year as she lived in MN. I always wished I'd had grandparents who were close to me.
Babyaustin - what lovely presents and thoughts from your gma!
