My mom likes to knit. She is not a pro... has only ever knit shawls, blankets and scarves (ie things that are a box), never even tried a hat. She's been knitting for probably 3 years now... I think the most complex stuff she's done is stripes (different colors) and maybe something about knitting on different sized needles... obviously I know what I'm talking about.
Anyway... my question... is there any kind of gift I could get her related to knitting... some sort of fun tool, awesome needles, pattern book... I dunno what I'm looking for but think she'd appreciate something knitting related.
I don't want to just get her a gift card to buy yarn.
Re: Knitters... need your help
I second this suggestion.
There are some great books on learning how to knit socks. or learning new knitting techniques. But something you can look at is maybe check for a nearby local yarn shop and see what classes they offer for her to take. Maybe make up a gift certificate to take a class of her choice to learn something new. Classes are always a good idea on learning new things and I am sure she would appreciate it.
What those two said.
The Yarn Harlot has a series of blog posts on what to get knitters that is very helpful
Also, get her to knit you up some baby washcloths in cotton if she wants to make baby girl a gift. Those are the best.
