REALLY trying not to panic

But my jump drive with ALL my course material for the class I'm teaching now and the two I taught last spring (and will teach again this spring), plus ALL my volleyball coaching stuff is missing.

My heart is in my throat.  I have looked everywhere. Tore apart every bag I've carried, my car, my living room, office at home, office on campus, etc.

It has a keychain on it, so it's not like it's a tiny little thing.

It is ALWAYS in my purse with my office/campus keys.  Went to get them both out yesterday and only one was there.

Seriously, I can feel my blood pressure going up as the hours pass.  I am freaking out but trying to remain as calm as possible... which is not very possible.

Re: REALLY trying not to panic

  • Campus lost and found?  Have you looked in every inch of your car?  These teeny things have a habit of just getting wedged in that one spot.....
  • This is my biggest fear. I keep every single treatment I've ever designed, plus my entire image database on a jump drive. Just recently, I've started backing it up to my computer, and am going to try to do that once a month. Still, losing it would be a MAJOR loss. Good luck! I hope you find it!
  • Check in the last classroom that you taught in as well as the IT department in that building.  I always left mine in the courseroom and IT keeps them.
  • Yeah, total freak out over here.  DH just tore apart the living room for the second time.

I only teach in one classroom and have never used it anywhere  but there or in my private office.  But, the last time I used it in my classroom was 2 weeks ago (no lectures since then) and another department prof. has class immediately after me, so I'm always shutting down/cleaning up as she comes in.  She would've noticed if I'd left it in there.  And that was 2 weeks ago.  I just can't imagine that I haven't seen it since then-it has EVERYTHING on it.

My only thought is that I pulled something out of my purse and it came with it, an I didn't hear it drop.

UGH.  I can't focus on anything else because I just keep looking for it.
