I was contacted by one of the jobs I applied for to fill out so more information and have a possible interview next week. They want to know my prospective start date. Technically I could probably start January 16th and have given my boss plenty of notice if I am offered the job. However I really like my boss as a person and would feel awful giving that short a notice. Would it be bad to put my prospective start date as February 1st? That would give Dr. M more time to search for someone. Do you think that would make me look like I don't want to start the new job right away? WWYD?

Re: WWMND: Re jobs
I would put negotiable that way you can explain to them that you want to be sure to give your current job enough notice.
That's what I ended up putting! Thank you!
