Morning all, How are we all today? Any plans?
QOTD: Did you have a favourite soft toy growing up? If so, what was it and what was it called? When did it "die"?
Re: Good Morning INs!!!
I now have 2 patients at home! DH doesn't do colds/sickness well and he's milking it... went to bed straight after getting home last night and didn't give me a proper handover from childminder (she gave N painkillers but he didn't tell me at what time...). So he's home in bed today and N is with my SIL (the childminder). I am convinced I will have a productive day today...
QOTD: I had two favourites called Big Ted and Little Ted! Guess what, one was a big teddy and the other a small teddy!!! Little ted would have been about 6 inches tall, orangy fur and a white patch on his tummy. He came everywhere with me! Big Ted was the same colouring but around 2 foot tall so not as portable.
Little Ted went with me to the US when I went on a student J1 visa for a summer. Unfortunately, he never made it home to Ireland... he is buried somewhere in Rhode Island - I think he got caught in the sheets as we were clearing out our apartment when leaving and was never seen again... That was in 1995...
(I came up with the idea for the QOTD because I was helping clear my parents attic out and came across my sister's stash of teddies which her DH won't let her take to their house!! Inc an immaculate Eeorr (sp?) )
Good morning! It was not a bad day all up ... the package I thought had been accidentally shipped surface mail arrived -- it was shipped air mail, just took a long time to get here. I am excited about it as the perfect Christmas present for my FIL was in the package. And when I called to tell my Mom that it arrived, I had to tell her I lost my job on Monday, and she was all ready to get on a plane to come down and "kick" my former boss. I spent over an hour explaining that was not the best course of action.
QOTD: I had a beautiful white cat with clear blue glass eyes and the softest stuffed animal fur I have ever felt. Her name was Snowball and she went everywhere with me. She was lost forever at the Ozark Folk Center when I was on a summer trip with my Grandmother. And despite my pleas and cries, and the fact that we had not left the grounds, my Grandmother would not go back or call the hotel to see if it was located. I was inconsolable the rest of the summer.
Good Morning! Today my DH is having a corridor Xmas party and invited me to come along. I will leave for his building in a few minutes. Later today I have to take photos at an event, and then tonight I am babysitting my Dutch colleague's 2 month old baby boy. DH is going to go with me and work on editing pictures. I hope we have a productive evening. And I hope DH will hold the baby. He hasn't wanted to before, but I think he might this time
I want to see how he does.
QOTD: My all time favorite doll was a bald, blue eyed cabbage patch named Gloria. I had her from when I was born until I was about 4 or 5 years old. My Mom told me I needed to donate her to other children who had NO toys. So, we went to Toys R Us, and I gave up Gloria - and got a new cabbage patch doll. Unfortunately, Carly had green eyes, a patch of blonde yarn hair, and she just wasn't the same. I missed Gloria, but don't remember being traumatized by giving her up.
Come to find out many years later, Gloria had gotten wet inside her head and started to grow mold!
It makes sense why Mom convinced me I should give her up. I guess Gloria went to the trash instead of the needy children I thought...
We're headed to the Maldives on Christmas Eve!
Morning! My big plans today include contorting myself around my large belly to shave my legs incase baby decides to actually come. Also trying to finish the grocery list for xmas. Exciting day!
QOTD: I have a small curious george doll that winds up and plays music, as well as a panda bear that the size of my palm. I still have both. I never really carried them around that I know of, but since I've been old enough to know they were always kept on my bed and now in a drawer.
I'm up after only 3 hrs sleep because my friend insisted on me spending the night even though I keep telling her I don't sleep well in other peoples houses.
I am determined to get something productive done today, just not sure what yet.
QOTD: I really have no idea if I had a favorite soft toy. I don't remember one, so I guess not.
