The people buying our house

Just showed up. And this is the second time they've done it.

I have not let them in either time. Actually, last time (and today) DH has been travelling. So he totally freaks out at the idea of someone just showing up, unannounced, asking to come in- especially when he's on the other side of the country.

Seriously, though? Who does that?

If you want to get in the house, that is totally fine with me. But call you realtor and I'll leave and my realtor will meet you here.

Re: The people buying our house

  • And they KNOW we have a baby. As if I'm going to let a stranger in to my house when I'm home alone with the baby.
  • That is so bizarre! Who does that?
  • Wow.  What do they want?  How old are they?  I would have your realtor contact their realtor ASAP.  That is very inappropriate.
  • It's actually the buyer's father. Our buyer is only in his mid-20's and, from what we gather, his father is fronting a substantial cash down payment to his son. The father hasn't actually been in the house yet, so I think he just wants to see it.

I just called my realtor and left him a message. I am going to have him contact the other realtor and tell them to set up a time for them to all come in the house so we can be done with the drop-ins.

  • Ugh, so old enough to know better and not so old that he is senile.

Definitely. He actually looks young... Early 50s would be my guess.

    Yeah, this. Weird.

My sentiments exactly.  I don't know why I'm surprised anymore when people do stupid things; I feel like I come across more dumb-ass people than usual these days.

I'd rather be rock climbing or playing volleyball

  • I totally understand why he would want to see the house if he's putting up a lot of cash BUT he's going about it in an insane way.  I would never let any stranger just pop into my house unannounced.  I'm glad you contacted your realtor about it.
  • That's crazy!  Again, totally agree and understand him wanting to see the house but why would he think he could just stop by unannounced ... friends rarely even do that these days.  I'm even more shocked that he didn't get the message and contact a realtor after his first drop by.  What did he think was going to change the 2nd time?

  • Yikes! That would make me uncomfortable.  I hope your realtor does something about it ASAP.
  • Our realtor did speak to the buyer's realtor. And she said "Oh, he wouldn't send anyone to the house." Um yeah, but his people are coming on their own accord.

Anyway, I had our realtor offer to let them in to the house on Saturday so that everyone who wants to can get in.
