i ordered 160, we'll see if that's going to be enough. i have a huge family, and i actually really enjoy keeping up with all of them (and friends... and old family friends... and people we do business with that are familiar with the family).
i also like to keep a few on hand in case we get a card from a friend/family member that i've forgotten, or hose address we didn't have. then i can just address it real quick and send.
confession: i am a little disappointed when i get a card that's just a greeting card, and doesn't have pictures...lol. i like to see what people and their kids look like.

I agree. I also like getting them from people I don't talk to very often, I love to see how everyone changes over the years. It's like a yearly check in and it usually makes me call/email to follow up.
Our list definitely grows every year, too. This year we purchased 150 cards based on how many we sent out last year (120 or so). Looking at the list, I am afraid we're going to have to send a few generics to some people who won't notice...
This year it's 50. I really wanted an extra 25 but with the move, I just couldn't swing the extra $$.
I too, hate old fashioned no picture cards. C
We don't send out cards because I only like to get picture cards. And sending out a picture of DH & I feels a bit narcissistic to me. I get picture cards from other couples & don't think they're being narcissistic at all, it just feels weird to me.
Once we have a kiddo to put on there, we'll be sending out over 100 each year, just to DH's family. No idea how many there will be in total, don't even want to think about it.
