Brief explanation: The adult women in my mom's family all do a gift exchange where you bring a generic gift and then draw numbers, each open/steal a present, etc. I thought it would be nice to include a set of greeting cards in my gift this year. Unfortunately, I've never done greeting cards before and they're not turning out quite as I had hoped. I'd like your opinions on any and all of these cards, how I might improve the technique or aesthetics. I'd like to pick 2-3 designs and make a set of 10-12.
For these, I like the one on the left, but think the rickrack is too much on the one on the right. Maybe try a straight ribbon instead? (And the "S" is whack.)
I like this one, except I think the tree needs to be moved up a bit.
I like both of these in theory. Not sure if I'm crazy about "Love".
I like the one on the left, neutral about the middle, dislike the one on the right. Again, I think the rickrack looks stupid. (Also, my gold pen is out of paint, so I wouldn't be able to make anymore of the middle one. I would have to change up the color scheme.)

Does it bother anybody else that the V's on the ends of the rickrack in the top row of the tree point a different direction than the other rows? Or is it just me?
I didn't notice it until you pointed it out. I could see how it might bug you, but I don't think it's a problem.
I really like the lace ones and the christmas tree one as well. The points of the ric-rac does not bother me. But, my advice would be to heat seal the ends of all the ribbon. You can do this using a lighter or even the flame from a tea light. You just need to get the flame near the ribbon and it will "melt" the ends so that they don't fray.
I don't have nice hand-writing. So, for me, I would actually print on cards before I made them pretty. But, your script looks nice.

Print as in using a computer program? I contemplated it, but have no fancy fonts or software and the prepackaged stuff on my computer just doesn't jive for what I'm hoping for. But even Lucida or Helvetica still might be an improvement.
Thanks for the tip on flaming the ends. I've never tried it, but will definitely do that here.

Those are also my favorite cards. If you are not going to move the tree up on the card, maybe writing something like "Merry Christmas" in the blank space on the top would be nice? Your handwriting on the other cards is very neat.
