Need office Christmas present help.
By the way, I'm basically alone in my office today and really bored, so I'll probably be posting a lot today 
Our office does a Christmas party/breakfast every year and exchanges gifts. This year we are going a "steal the gift" exchange. For those that aren't familiar, everyone draws a number and starting with #1 that person blindly picks a gift and unwraps it. #2 can pick a new gift to unwrap or steal from #1. If #2 steals from #1, then #1 picks a new gift to unwrap. Then it's #3's turn. This continues until everyone either picks a gift or steals from someone else.
I need help picking a gift to bring. Our spending limit is $15 and it needs to appeal to men and women, from 28 to mid-60s in age. A lot of people bring liquor or wine (I know, to an office Christmas party that is held at our government office, don't ask how we get away with this), but obviously that wouldn't really appeal to me being pregnant and all and I'm not a big drinker anyways. I was thinking something edible or a gift card, but I'm not sure. Please help!

I like the edible idea. What if you went to a local bakery and got an array of fudge or something like that? I think that would be popular!!!
Or, you could make your own goodie bundle and be able to include more for the price budget!
I agree with Danie, I would go edible. Maybe make a basket with some nicer chocolates and cookies or other candies. You could also include hot chocolate and/or tea and/or coffee.
FILs side of the family does this type of gift exchange every year, but their limit is $50. It usually a good time, but takes forever.

Since these need to be gender-neutral I would usually suggest things like a travel hot-beverage mug, some tea/coffee/cocoa and a gift card from Starbucks/Biggby/etc.
Since part of our cost-cutting included not having a Christmas party this year, therefore losing out on the bank-wide Secret Santa exchange, our admin & I organized a grab-bag gift exchange as well and it sounds exactly like what you all are doing. Unfortunately only 6 people signed up so not sure what we're going to do at this point, if it's worth continuing or not.
Every year, me and my friends do this kind of swapping. We set a $20 limit and it's gender-neutral, and just for the fun of it. Here are some things we've exchanged over the years:
- Wine glasses or other bar accessories
- iTunes gift cards
- Digital Photo keychain
- Fleece blanket/throw
- Home decor items (candle gardens, serving trays, etc)
- Ornaments
- A travel coffee mug with a gift card inside for coffee
Hubby got starbucks VIA packets for his office party and it was a big hit!
Someone else got a build-a-bear, and no one is sure why?
I just got back from my office holiday party where we did this swap. We were asked to try to avoid alcohol and gift cards. These were the most "popular" items (our exchange was $15-20):
-$20 in lottery tickets
-the Steve Jobs biography
-A martini set (no alcohol, just the mixers)
-A nice candle set
- I brought a zebra print snuggie - it was meant to be sort of a joke - but a couple people actually "stole" it!
I ended up with a gift set of Ghirardelli hot chocolate, mugs, marshmellows, etc. I was happy with that!
This could be a fun idea!!
