What do I bring?

I am going to a Christmas party this weekend and have to bring something.  I am going to make some mini quiche, but have to come up with one more finger food.  The location is more than a 1 hour drive, so it needs to be something good at room temperature.  All the dips, fruits/veggies, and sandwich type foods are covered.

So, can someone give me an idea of quick, easy appetizer to throw together for the party?  Recipes are a plus!

  • Ohhhh saving that for my own time.  Unfortunately, they already have three other people covering the dips so I can't bring that.

  • Are you looking for something kind of "fancy" or would a more casual snack work?  Here are some quick ideas that are always good:

    Chex mix (homemade of course)

    Bacon wrapped dates

    Caprese Skewers

    Deviled eggs

    Daisypath Vacation tickers
  •  Onion, pear, and gorgonzola pizza: sounds weird, but it's really good and looks a lot fancier than it actually is to make.

  • The party isn't fancy but it is during dinner time so I assume we should bring something that is a bit filling.  I was going to make some turkey rolls up, but someone else is already bringing little croissant sandwiches.  The skewers sound yummy though.  That's definitely a thought.

Hrmm... that's odd but I bet it's really good.  I wonder if the kids would eat it?

Do you think it would be good if I mixed everything in this recipe together and stuffed it into endive leaves instead?  That would be less of a dip... right?

I think that would be really good.  I actually ate a few spoon-fulls without any bread.  Sooo good!

  • What about those tortilla pinwheels - where you mix something like chopped olives (or black beans), salsa, spices & cream cheese & spread on to a tortilla?  Then roll it up & slice.  That is always a hit.
  • i was thinking pinwheels as well, but the kind you make with sliced ham.

spread a thin layer of cream cheese on a slice of ham, sprinkle chopped chives on it, then roll up and slice like pinwheels.
