  • I have a canon T1i and have been very happy.
  • I bought the Nikon D5100 (Nikon's highest entry level) on impulse when I was debating between that and the D90. I ended up selling the D5100 a month later and bought the D90. My D90 just came in yesterday and I am so in love with it. The problem with entry level Nikon's is that they do not have an auto focus motor built into the body. So if you want to purchase a different lens, it has to be an AF-S lens, which has the auto focus motor built in. AF-S lenses are really expensive (at least a $100 difference on every lens). You can use an AF lens with the D3100 or D5100 but you will have to manually focus. Even though the D5100 wasn't for me, it was still a good camera.
