I need some momma advice...The last month or so Gianna is very interested in the potty, checking people for poopy pants, telling us when she pooped so we can change her diaper, etc.
The last couple days I can.not. keep her dressed. At first I couldn't figure out why, then today I realized she wants undressed every time she pees.
I feel like if she was older, I would jump right in and start potty training. However, she's only 19 months. I feel like she's soo young and I don't want to hinder her potty training but I don't want to push her also.
I guess I just need to ask, WWYD? I picked up undies today. Should we try a few days next week of her running around in undies and see what happens? She 'gets' when she pees but doesn't 'get' that you need to pee in the potty. How can I help, but not push it?
This momma is so not ready for her baby to be growing up....
Re: Potty Training Help
Do you have a potty chair? If you do, get it out and put it in the bathroom. When she strips because she's wet, sit her on the potty so she can start to make the association.
Reese started showing a lot of interest in the potty around that age. She did ok for awhile and then wanted nothing to do with it. She was almost potty trained when Grier was born and had a major regression for about a month. It wasn't until she was 2y 3m that she was totally day time trained and she's actually still in diapers at night.
I'd do it. If it doesn't work out, then stop and try again later. Ana was potty trained by 18mos simply because she was interested in what Katen was doing. I'm sure it's the same with G.
We just sat the potty chair in the area where she was playing so she could get to it quickly. I asked her about every 30 mins casually if she had to go.
