I'm just wondering what everyone is doing. Also the ones with family close by.
We usually spent Christmas eve with good friends (and lotsa booze) for dinner.
Then the 1st day of Christmas (we have 2 days of Christmas in NL) we usually just have a hanging out together and opening gifts day with just the two of us.
The 2nd day of Christmas we usually invite family over. (Basically my mom and brother, because they are the only family who are in the area/country around the holdiays.)
So what are everyone's plans?

Re: What are you doing for Christmas if you're not traveling home?
My brother just arrived from Canada yesterday to spend the holidays with us.
For xmas eve we will be going to a family friend's home to celebrate with her family and some other friends. This usually ends quite late.
Then whenever we wake up xmas morning we will do our stockings, then have a big breakfast and then open the other gifts. I'm going to cook a turkey dinner.
On the 26th we will be driving to Barcelona until the 30th, then we will celebrate NYE in Cannes with friends. We're not sure what we'll be doing yet, but with M it's easier to host it at our house or at another friend's place who have a son M's age. We'll see.
The 25th and 25th are actually my normal scheduled days off, but since H has to work on the 25th, I swapped shifts with someone who has family. So, we are both working. Our Christmas will be on Boxing Day.
This is my first Christmas home in 2 years so I am really excited. 24th is usually a impromptu get together with family with drinks and snacks. 25th is a nice meal at my Grandmas with a family gift opening.

It's our first Xmas at our home in 11yrs of coupledom! Sort of daunting. I gotta travel for work M-Thurs, so I'm actually looking forward to a quiet weekend at the casa. Wish me luck cooking!

At this rate, with my luck, I'll be in labor. Really hoping that isn't the case. We were hoping to give BabyD a normal Christmas but that really may not work out. At least he's still too young to know what day Christmas should be on.
If I'm not in the hospital then we'll probably go to Mass and do the Christmas dinner on base. We're not planning on hosting since I could pop at any moment. No one has invited us over because they are either out of town, not hosting types, or are probably unsure if we would make it. (and a number of our friends have recently moved for their jobs)
