Our two department managers are in town this week for reviews (oh joy) & so I've really been stressed out trying to be as productive as possible and not shop for hours on end online instead of researching products (oops). Today was the moment of truth, so to speak, because at noon I was supposed to have my review. Now mind you I've had mostly terrible review experiences, since I spent over 10 years in retail where they rip you to shreds, so around 10 I started getting butterflies in my stomach. The director moved the meeting up an hour...oh great. Well glad to say I had a good review & got a better raise than average (score). He was also throwing around phrases like "project lead" and "spot bonuses"-double score. We went to Seasons 52 as a team for a super nice (and kind of pricey) lunch & our company footed the bill.
When I got home, there was a pretty red envelope on my front porch & I got really excited because I knew what it was (well at least I knew what the ocassion was). I scarcely got inside before ripping the envelope open & to my delight, my awesome Elf gifted me with a sweet and festive OPI nail polish (meep meep meep), a package of Starbucks Via sticks to feed my caffine addiction & a warm and cozy infinity scarf (that I'm planning on wearing to work tomorrow). Everything was adorable, right down to the "Joy Ride" card. Thank you, thank you, a million times, thank you! They say that it's better to give than receive, but sometimes it's nice to receive too (-:
