Things to do with quotes you love... (quote added)
Just came across a quote my dad would LOVE and want to use it on a gift for him somehow...
But what do you do with a great quote besides:
wood sign (not his style)
cool print framed (contemplating this...)
tshirt ( a little cheesy IMO)
decal (not his style)
Any cool inspiration/ideas?
Re: Things to do with quotes you love... (quote added)
Would the quote work with a picture? You could add it to a frame like the print framed idea.
Coffee mug - slightly less cheesey than the t-shirt
Key ring?
For BIL, we found this quote we loved for him - something about not going to fast because you'll miss the scenery, since he is busy starting his law practice.
Anyway there is a pic of Z from our family pictures where he is just staring over the water, we took that picture and edited it to include this quote, and the word Uncle sort of faded into the background, printed it in 8 x 10 and then framed it in a frame that would match the style of his office.
Just a thought.
ADORABLE!!
I too would like to know the context of the quote before I make a recommendation.
The quote is from Frank Lloyd Wright, the architect. My parents' house is inspired by his architecture, they visit his houses whenever they travel, etc. My dad is especially obsessed (reads books, etc). Both of my parents are also really into yard work/gardening, so the quote just fits perfectly.
Anyway-this is the quote:
"Whether people are fully conscious of this or not, they actually derive countenance and sustenance from the 'atmosphere' of the things they live in or with. They are rooted in them just as a plant is in the soil in which it is planted."
I like the idea of using a pic of their house... I wish I had the $$ to have an artist on Etsy do a painting or drawing or something.
Does anyone know a good way to make a photo sort of LOOK like a drawing or a painting? That might be cool?
I have a elements action that does a pencil sketch, I will find the link--and if you don't have elements I can run it for you and send you back the picture
