What is your fav holiday activity to do w/ kids?
I need a few ideas for things to do on Christmas Break. Ice Skating is out (dh is injured) and it needs to be something to hold a 1 yr olds attention for a little bit too. I've thought of Wildlife Experience, looking at lights, St. Nicks etc. but need a few more inexpensive ideas. Is there a live Nativity Scene anywhere in Denver? Is it worth driving up to Silverthorne to see the Ice Castles? I've already planned many activities at home (gingerbread houses, crafts, etc.) but am drawing a blank on places to go. Thanks for your help!

Baking!
Trip to visit Santa is probably as ambitious as we'll get this year as we're restricted by nap times.
There is the Museum of Nature and Science. Okay so it's not Christmas-y but they have the interactive dinosaur exhibit on until beginning of january if you think it wouldn't freak the 1YO out too much. You can check on events like in downtown littleton and maybe looking around Southglenn and visiting Santa. Bass Pro Shops is a haul but a great place to kill time for kids. Tons of things to look at and do, including fish and ducks (live) and lots of taxidermy. I want to say Rox's church usually does a live nativity scene at some point.

Swimming at a rec center?
Lunch at Chick Fa la with some time to play there as well?
This weekend is supposed to be nice, so we may try to find a park to go and play at.
Yup, 1 PM, Bethany Lutheran Church on Christmas Eve, and outdoor live animal nativity service. Extremely young child friendly, and all kids, even if you never set in the door before, get to participate.
Very fun!
Ooops, on Hampden, just west of I-25, you can't miss it.
Santa is in downtown Littleton this weekend and free.
Littleton Historical Museum is free and a blast. Go there!
Trail of Lights at Chatfield is lots of fun, and not crowded. Not free, however.
You can always hit up Lola's Sugar Rush on Main Street in Littleton for Christmas Candy that isn't too crazy expensive.
Or take the Hammond's Candy Tour (not to long you'd skip it with a one year old).
