Is anyone still shopping? If so (or not, whatever!), want to talk about it?
I'm almost done, but I still can't figure out what to give my dad. I found a toaster on Amazon on that stamps the San Diego Chargers lightning bolt onto bread -- which is kind of awesome in theory, but iffy in practice. Someone gave one to our controller for Christmas (but with the Red Sox logo), and he used it this mornng to burn a piece of toast, which he then tacked onto our bulletin board to show off the charred "B." Suffice it to say, after smelling burnt toast for the better part of the morning, I'm rethinking that particular gift idea...
*Sorry, Deej. (Can I call you Deej? That's how I pronounce it in my head!) That should be Christlessmas for me. ![]()

And I have heard those toasters are awful. The bread gets burnt in some places, and not at all toasted in other places.
Bummer.

i just finished yesterday and after I finish my final exam papers today I'll officially be able to bask in the afterglow of completion.
Of course, only for a day or two and then I'm back to crazy-town getting everything ready to host Christmas and doing some Hanukkah-ing.
My niece is coming over tomorrow and we're going to hit the mall to help her finsh up her shopping, make her mom's present that I've picked up all the fixins' for a little DIY awesomeness, and then get some baking done.

I'm sorry Nebb. I might doubt it too, to be honest.

He is used to getting his own way, but hes been kicked out of the house, suspended from school and his parents wont budge anymore and I think this is the only way he can think of to get back "in", by using guilt/fear. I would be devestated if he did it and I feel bad for him but... you cant lie and cheat again and again and expect people to trust you.
Of course! I don't think I responded on FB because I was raiding at the time, but I definitely lol'd.
I haven't bought anything yet. I've made progress though. I know what to get everyone so now I need to get out there and buy everything. Also have to do birthday shopping for my brother and H. I'm breaking the rules and H is getting a combo goft this year. I know he hates that so I'm claiming the patio table is his bday gift and the chairs are xmas.
Oh and my mom told me she wants me to crochet her a hat. She tried to decribe what stitch she wants me to use and I have no idea what she's talking about. You think it's ok for me to take it upon myself and just make her a hat that might not be the correct stitch she wants? I don't have much time left to get this done.
I've finished my shopping and now I can't wait for Christmas. Actually, grandma's Christmas is Sunday so a lot of the gifts will go out then, and I'll have a sad tree with only a few presents left. I picked up another small gift for my mom last night and that's my last one to wrap.
Nebb, it sounds like he's playing the pity card. I think if you get him a gift, he'll see that he can break you down like he used to do with your dad. And then end up trying to leach off you. Tell him that he hasn't lost anything he can't get back, if he's willing to grow up and face like like a man.
I think so. I don't know your mom, obviously, but I think for a lot of moms (mine included!) "I want you to crochet me a hat" = "I want something that you made yourself, because it will mean more to me, and I really don't want you spending any more money than you have to anyway." I don't imagine that the specific stitch is all that important.
I'm impressed you can crochet a hat in a week and a half. (Or at all.) That's pretty cool.
I'm almost done.
I need to get something for each of my brothers, my oldest brothers girlfriend, and one of my best friends.
My brothers GF is getting a ladybug charm for her bracelet, I just need to go down and get it. No clue what to get the boys though.
I think you're right, Celles. She always wants something homemade. Unfortunately I don't always have time to make something homemade. I think I'll whip something up this weekend and if she wanted something else I can make another at a later date. Trying to describe stitches over the phone isn't all too accurate.
FYI: The new Food Network wine (partnered with Wente Vineyards) is delish! It's called Entwine (I bought it in honor of LOTR), I did a tasting with all their offerings yesterday and picked up the Pinot for my mother's gift. I don't even like Pinot normally (I'm a Merlot girl) and it was delicious.

Thanks for mentioning the toaster. I was going to buy it just because I got an extra 30% off the dodger store for my birthday.
I finished most of my shipping yesterday. We still need FMIL FI's SS for my family and FI's grandma. We just bought FFIL right now and we have to pick up at the store later
Rossi jug wine maybe? I drank a lot of this in college. Mainly because if me and my roomie got two we would ask people if they wanted to see our jugs... while still in the grocery store. Hey! It was a college town, don't judge.
