My phew...
Last week they had a tricky time finding the heartbeat. As in they didn't find it. We had an u/s before Thanksgiving, so they weren't worried, but told me to come back in a week, just in case. And today, we heard that sweet baby's heart. Phew!
And my compliant....
If one more person tells me/us that we're going to be overwhelmed having two too close together, I'm going to scream. It took us a long time to have Adrian. It took once, just once, for this one. If I would have known I was fertile myrtle this time around, I would have kept my legs shut for another few more months at least. At this point, I'm pregnant and going to have this baby regardless...so the downers need to switch gears to support us instead of freaking us out. I mean, hello, don't you think we've played every "ahhhhhh" moment of having 2 under 2 in our heads...why make us freak out more?!
Okay, thanks for listening. ![]()
Re: a phew! and a complaint.
Didn't you tell those crepe-hangers that you were "born ambitious?" Seriously, people have 2 under 2 all the time and survive. Heck-- think about those women (our grandmothers?) who had 10 under 10!
You can do this. And those other people just need to chill out. Ask them next time if they want to borrow your SuperGirl cape! You got this.
yay for baby's heartbeat!! It's the best sound ever!!
boo for negative people! I've found that pregnancy brings on a lot of negative comments from people. I don't know how many times I've gotten little comments about catching up on sleep because I won't sleep for the next year or so, or comments about how we'll be changing diapers all the time, or how expensive babies are, or they roll their eyes and laugh when I tell them I'm going to look into cloth diapers, etc etc. Tell me about positive fun stuff about having a baby! It's always from people that have a bunch of kids too. Well if it's that bad, then why did you have more than one kid? sheesh!
Yay for the heartbeat! So great to know everything is on track and going well.
I totally agree that people have no filter and say the most bizarre things when you are pregnant. It's my most frustrating thing about pregnancy I think. Last week someone at work (who I hardly know) said I looked "pleasantly plump." Really?!
Ha! My grandmothers each had 2 kids.
Jackie, if there's anyone who can handle 2U2, it's you. You'll probably have have both of your kids fed (with a homemade meal), dressed (in hand-knitted sweaters), and doing developmentally appropriate activities all in the time it takes me just to get out of bed and throw a Nutrigrain bar at my preschooler.
I am relieved for your phew!
As for the comments, it's none of people's business! MH and his brother are 22 months apart and my ILs heard so many comments while the boys were growing up about how they should have planned better. Sometimes my MIL would tell people it took forever to have one (5 years) and they were afraid they couldn't have a second, which made most people quiet down. Other times, she had a much more choice remark. I'm afraid you'll probably keep hearing these comments but like others have said, you definitely have what it takes to handle 2 under 2!
I'm so glad everything went well at the u/s! Phew!
You guys will do great and you'll have your moments but will survive. People just don't say the rigt things. Im constantly barraged y his family to get pregnant but know if I did have 2 under 2 they'd make comments. Me, I'm not sure I can handle two, period
I've wanted to make a couple of comments like this to a few people. Luckily, we have tact hehe, but it would be so nice to see them take a few steps back

This, for real. You are going to rock 2 under 2, Jackie. People really need to think before they speak!
