New Year's Resolutions

Just curious if anyone is making any resolutions this year.

Re: New Year's Resolutions

  • Well, I'm signed up for two races: Cherry Blossom 10 Miler and Rock n' Roll Half-marathon, so my big goal is to run more. I'm also going in for the NYC marathon lottery; I've gotten in twice before and have run once. Fingers crossed!

I'd also like to write creatively a bit more. To help, Josh is giving me a writing class a local writer's center. It starts late January. The goal of the class is to have a first draft of a short story, novel, whatever. I'm really excited.

  • My resolution is to run a 10k and see where I can go from there. I also would like to loose another 1 or 2 dresses sizes. We will see how that goes. I want to continue eating healthier and maybe mix up and cook more unusual things.

I would also like to save more money.

  • Not really New Year's Resolutions, but after Thanksgiving I put together a list of things I wanted to do before my 30th birthday in May.

  • Mine is to get my house organized and keep it that way.  I feel like we are constantly shuffling paper from one room to another but it never really gets put away permanently.

  • 1. Unpack every single box. Yes, I'm that person that lives out of boxes no matter how long I've lived somewhere.

    2. Run in the Disney Princess Half Marathon. I missed a month of running and have now started my training over again. We'll see what happens.

    3. Figure out a way to make some money on the side. Some kind of craft I can make and sell on Etsy or Ebay or something.

  • I don't generally do resolutions, but try to consistently set new goals. I hadn't really thought about it much lately but some of these resolutions have given me good ideas. Like Neptoon I need to get better at keeping my house organized. We're really bad about letting it get cluttered. I've been trying to get our finances in better shape for the past year and have made some progress, but I think in the coming year I really need to step it up a notch.
  • My resolution is to get our finances in order once and for all. We go through phases where we're super savers and then next thing you know we're looking at our checking account in disbelief at how much we've spent. I want to cut back on things we don't need and get a good savings plan in place since we're planning on TTC soon.
    Pregnancy Ticker
  • I'd like to maintain a healthy pregnancy.  Obviously that is not all up to me, but if this pregnancy is sticky I would like to make sure I stay as healthy and active as possible throughout.

  • I want to run a race, and not just a 5K maybe a 10K or more. I've never run more than a block, but I really want to do it.

Also I'm on the getting our finances in order camp too. If we're going to adopt a 2nd child, we need to start saving like yesterday.
