Calling all Nestie Nurses..
there's so much differing information out there.. I need help.
Think I have a spider bite on the top of my ankle/foot. Burning/itchy. Not sure how to treat it. It hurts a bit and if I wear shorty socks it really bothers me. Feels like my foot is swollen but it's not. Drove me crazy last night.. I was thinking that maybe I had just scratched it or something, but as I look at it closer, it's a bite.

Maybe try a foot soak with epsom salt. Also, I would take an oral antihistamine (benadryl) for the itch. You can also do topical.
If the area of the bite starts to swell or the redness persists/grows I would definitely get it checked out by your physician asap.

I would try a warm moist compress, or soak it in warm water.
I would go to the doctor to get it checked out. The last time I "thought" I had a "spider bite" it was an MRSA infection that turned into an ER visit on Christmas Day. The ER Dr had told me that a lot of people come in thinking they have a spider bite when it's not.
If you don't want to go to the dr now, just keep an eye on how you are feeling and if you get a fever or not. If you do get a fever, go to the dr ASAP.
I hope it's just a bite and nothing else.
