  • Oh my word that is is too too funny!

I have nothing super exciting to post however I will share this with you.

And this because doxies are super funny when they run in circles.

And this happens in my house sometimes.

  • There a gun poll on MM. I want to so desperately tell them military members do not keep M-16s under their pillows but I don't have the lurker balls. She wanted to know who kept guns for safety in the house but said hunters, police, and military were excluded. Mhmmmm...

Seriously? That makes absolutely no sense what so ever.

My Dad is a major hunter and keeps all his guns in a closet that locks in his home. I've never thought anything of it until E started talking about getting a hand gun and it totally creeps me out.

I always find myself chuckling when people make this assumption, especially since most of the bases I've lived on, firearms were not permitted in housing.

  • I can't really comment on this because DH has a lot of guns. However, he has them because he loves to hunt. It has nothing to do with him being in the military. I don't mind them but I'm not comfortable having them around kids. I told him that when we have kids, they will not be on the property or they will be sold!

  • Aggie, I keep thinking you're KillerCupcake because that used to be her siggy!

KC - If I ever allowed us to own a gun, it would totally be at the armory. Even though we live off base. Unless I become proficient with a handgun, and by proficient I mean, not a Logistics Officer. I'd have to get a BAMF MOS before I was down.

ETA: I really like logistics. That is not meant to be a dig.

I've seen a lot of military surprise homecomings. It wouldn't work on me. I always have my back to the corner and my face to the door. Looking for terrorists, criminals, various other threats, and husbands.

Oh. The firearms are there, even if they're not allowed.

Which they are, but you have to register them with the base and keep them in the armory. Nobody wants to do that, so nobody ever does.

. What I'm saying is they are not issued a gun to keep at home. That's why I said the M-16. Their guns for work are kept in the armory and not at their home.

So...people really think that they're issued an M-16 to be able to carry around everywhere?? Indifferent DH had to walk to the location where he manifested before deployment because their rifles aren't even allowed in cars...

  • As far as privately-owned weapons on post goes, it depends on what post you're at. Here are Carson, you can keep weapons at home, as long as they are registered on post. The military issue ones are locked up tighter than Ft. Knox...
