What are you getting MIL for Xmas?

Sorry to be a PW, but yes I am doing ALL of my holiday shopping this weekend (I hope).  So I thought maybe I'd get an idea from seeing what others are buying.

What are you getting your MIL for Xmas?

Re: What are you getting MIL for Xmas?

  • For Christmas she's getting two books and a Joanns giftcard.

For her birthday (it's on the 20th) I got her a HP mug, a one cup coffee maker, and the last HP movie.

    Happiest place on Earth!

  • We got MIL and FIL a gift certificate to a nice restaurant. They never want or need anything, and its easier to just get them a gift certificate someplace. They will use it:)
  • Some lotions for use in her massage therapy business and a radio transmitter so she can listen to her mp3 player through her car radio.
"And on the keyboard, the Big D himself, Rusty Shackleford!"
    Lilypie Maternity tickers
  • We all got her a Kindle, and I loaded it with stuff from our lists from around here. :)

PS Thanks sunshine, you had all the Janet Evanovich and she loves her!

  • I made her a gift (I copied the project below), but also got her a tote bag she can slide photos of her grandkids into (from Michaels, really inexpensive-kind of like below), and a set of fridge magnet acrylic frames in all different sizes, since her fridge is covered with pics right now (from Kohls but also at BB and Beyond).

  • Nothing Stick out tongue

She wants it to only be for the kids, so I'll probably just give her some jars of jellies and relishes I made over the fall.

  • WE made them a calender of Evie on shutterfly. Also making some Evie photo coasters (on my pinterest) for them too.
  • No idea. She always says "nothing" when asked what she wants or says we already gave her something big earlier in the year and that should "count" for Christmas too.........and then she emails us her real list......

So, it's on DH.  We are splitting her flight to Florida as well as her accommodations for a week (as her Mother's Day gift or her Birthday - can't remember) and as far as I'm concerned - that's enough! :)

  • A spice rack and a pair of earrings with a matching necklace.

  • Ordering her a calender of Benjamin/Family pictures.  If we had jobs, it would be more/bigger.
  • we split the cost of a new camera for MIL. She wanted a PNS that could fit in her purse; 'and was fast for the grandkids'. I told my husband we need to make sure the resolution isn't set on the highest setting. It's not like she'll be making posters of our kids Stick out tongue
    Baby Birthday Ticker Ticker
  • We get her a photobook and a gift certificate for a mani/pedi every year.  We used to do a photo calendar but that was a waste because she refused to write anything on it!  So now we just stick to the photo book and she loves it!
  • We're giving her a matching gift along with SIL & her husband.  They got her one of the $79 Kindles, and we got her a lighted cover and a $25 Amazon GC.

Be kinder than necessary, for everyone you meet is fighting some kind of battle.
  • We got her a new knife set and a new skillet pan.

We had some issues with her current kitchen items at Thanksgiving. It's not good when she was trying to cut a squash with a bread knife b/c it's the sharpest one in the drawer! Stick out tongue

  • I have no idea. I've been bugging DH about it because I leave buying for her up to him and he hasn't even really thought about it yet. She lives in FL and we have to ship it down there, so he really needs to get going! We chatted last night about it we're thinking we might get her some lotions/bodywashes/bubblebath from VS. She still talks about the lotions we got her a few years ago, so we may go that route again.

  • She is really into the weather so we bought her a rain gauge. I also got her a cardigan sweater from Land's End and a new set of pot holders and kitchen towels.
