Cozumel and Costa Maya
DH and I are going on a cruise to Mexico for our anniversary. I really want to do horse back riding to some of the ruins, but there aren't any tours offered through the cruise ship. Does anyone have any recommendations for reputable tour companies in either Cozumel or Costa Maya that offer tours like that?

Hopefully I can help a little? We have been to Cozumel twice on cruises. We went to the Tulum ruins because they were the only ones that weren't "replica" ruins. We figured, if we're going to see ruins, we want to see the real thing! There aren't any horseback riding tours to that one - but it was GORGEOUS because it butted right up to the caribbean and had very nice beach at the bottom. Google "Tulum Ruins" and you're likely to see what I'm talking about!
So, if your main goal is to see the ruins, I would guess you want authentic ruins like we did. However, if your main goal is to go horseback riding and just wanted to use the ruins as a "thing to do" while your riding ... you may be able to find something.
I would 2nd what the other poster said - check out cruise critic - it has helped TONS with every cruise we've done.
Side note: we went swimming with the sea turtles in Cozumel as well - best tour we've ever done!
what? there are MANY MANY MANY hundreds of ruin sites that aren't replicas. coba, chichen itza, ek balam, etc..
i honestly dont recall ever seeing anyone ride horses through any of them.
Try not to jump the gun here - we visited on a cruise and you can only travel so far. Tulum was the only one offered through the cruise ship that was authentic due to the port's location.
Which port was that?
