How can I make this?

Hey crafty gals....

I really want to make this deer art for my baby's nursery.  How would you go about it?

Thanks!

Re: How can I make this?

  • I would find an image your like of a deer/stag and have it blown up.

I would then lay the canvas side by side. Cut the image out, lay it on the canvas and trace around it. Then paint in the outline.

Other ladies might have a better suggestion. You could use freezer paper, but at that size it might be difficult.

Sounds easy enough.... where do I blow it up?  Kinkos or somewhere like that?

Kinkos or Staples. I think Staples has some pretty low rates.

  • My first thought was to go on to etsy and custom order the stag. I believe vinyl would stick on canvas.

  • Office Max also does printing and blowing up.  I was working with them on a project and they were going to be SUPER cheap!  I was going to have a large blow up and it was going to cost me less than a $1 to have it done.  I wanted it on better paper so then they were going to make a copy of my blow up onto nicer paper for only $5 or something like that.  You wouldn't need that though.
I ended up just looking at the image I wanted and drawing it on art board and painting it. (Only because I couldn't get the image to save correctly on my memory card) But I wouldn't be confident in my skills to free hand a deer.
Cute design! I'd love to see the final project!
