***WonderRed*** RE: Abq schools - NW area?

So it seems that we may be considering the west side after all, because there's really nothing over here in the NE that is in our price range with the number of bedrooms that we want (4). Rio Rancho is simply too far of a commute for my DH's job, so that is out, but we are looking at areas in the NW, in either Cibola or Volcano Vista high school districts.

I would definitely appreciate any input you (or your friends who live in the area) have about these schools, as well as any specifics about neighborhoods, etc. I know the high schools are important, but since my kids are all younger I'm specifically interested in elementary schools as well. Since we live in the NE Heights now, we really don't know much about the west side at all, so any information is good.

This is not really time-critical or anything but we are hoping to ramp up the house search after the new year so I'm trying to get all my ducks in a row before that. Thanks again.

Re: ***WonderRed*** RE: Abq schools - NW area?

  • VV is a new school since I moved away, so I can't help you with that one at all.  Cibola is a decent school.  Not the best one in APS but certainly not the worst, by any means at all.  I just send you a FB friend request.  I'll do a private message there between me you and my friends in ABQ so that you can ask them questions diredctly.  They'll have much more updated information than I do, especially about VV.  Looks like it probably took over the northern part of the West Mesa HS district from what I'm looking at.
  • Thanks so much. I really appreciate it!
