As a result of these updates, members of the Nest Community will need to change their password in order to continue participating in the community. In addition, The Nest community member's avatars will be replaced with generic default avatars. If you wish to revert to your original avatar, you will need to re-upload it via The Nest.

GOT A MAC FOR CHRISTMAS!
DH bought me a used MacBook for Christmas and I LOVE IT. Once you go MAC you never go back. It is 6 years old and works better than any of the PCs we have in the house (all newer).

Congrats on your awesome Christmas gift!!!
I'm on my 3rd macbook, i keep selling my old ones and upgrading when they come out with new ones. And they have amazing resale value, I can almost buy my news ones outright with the profits from selling my old. And your right, they last forever.
Just be sure to buy apple care, it is worth it. They will replace your whole computer if it crashes or fix it anytime at no fee.
