I've mentioned before that I have two coworkers who are pregnant and due a month apart in Feb. and March. Well, one of them just found out that her best friend and her SIL (also a long time friend) are also both pregnant and due in August. All four of these ladies live really close together, so they're talking about their kids potentially going to school together, etc. I'm kind of jealous that my friend has three close friends to share pregnancy journeys with and it kind of makes me want to join the club.
At 29 years old, this is the first pregnancy boom I've experienced IRL since most of my friends are still childless and it's really making my biological clock tick louder.
Re: I'm kind of jealous
Oh yeah, definitely. We want to make sure that we're as ready as we can be before starting to TTC and it's just not the time yet.
What's funny is that I was one of the first of my friends to get married since I was 26 and most of them didn't get married until two to three years later. I think that makes me feel the pressure a little more too. It's like I should've had a baby before them since I was married first, but our plan was always to wait 4-5 years.

I hear you. I would love to say to just enjoy all of the things that are ore difficult when you have babies, but sometimes it just isn't enough when that baby fever hits!
We are one of the few married couples we know who do not have kids. It doesn't help at all that there are several people who have no business having kids (our 18 year old not married employee, a not married acquaintance who lives off the government unnecessarily, etc.) having babies. We waited until my H was done with residency and started his own practice before even thinking about it. We are trying, but we have waited so long to be ready that I just want it now! I should probably work on that patience thing now
It's totally financial. We just can't afford daycare right now. We're hoping that we both get raises in the spring that will give us that extra financial cushion to make us feel better about starting to try next summer.
I'm glad you are being responsible and making sure you can afford all that comes with a kid! It drives me crazy when people can't afford to take care of themselves and just have kids cause they want to (like my sister!). It sucks to wait, but you'll be better off once you are ready!
