It's taking everything I have not to tell our families right now! Last night, we were at our family cookie swap with DH's family, and everyone was STILL on my case about not drinking. My BIL even said, "you better tell me before you start to show."
geez...I just want to tell them all so badly. Especially since I really want to get a picture with my SIL who is due on the 27th. Very very newly pregnant, and very very very pregnant haha.
wow.
ehh I don't know if I'd worry about that on my part anyways.... at least, I hope not!!

I really want to tell them at Christmas, but DH is very hesitant. I told him that if (God forbid) anything happen, I would want/need their support, as there would be no way that I could deal with it without them.
We'll see, though. I was thinking about telling my parents and brother on my mother's birthday in January, but I'm not sure if my brother will be coming down.
If we did decide to wait until I was almost through the first trimester, I think we would like to tell them when we close on our house and give everyone a tour. We'd say, "and this is the baby's room..." and see what happens.
I would go with this. It seems like a good excuse to videotape it too. Just say you want a tape of the "before" house.

Um, this CAN'T happen...I need the moms of the board to come here often and tell me what being a mom is REALLY like, and I need the non-moms to stay here and talk about drinking! Or something!

The house tour is a super-cute idea! Or you could do what my parents did with me...get a cake for your mom's birthday that says "Happy Birthday, Grandma" and wait for her to catch on...

I love this idea! We'll definitely do it for our friends and family (siblings)
we've decided that we are going to tell our parents first, so my mother's birthday is January 15th. I'll be into my 7th week by then. She wants to be called Nonna, so I found a onsie that says "I love Nonna" on it. Hopefully she'll get it. We're going to tell MIL/FIL by telling them that we have to cancel our cruise (we had booked together for April), but it's not because we're buying a house..and see if they catch on.
ummmm I'm going to have to stick around so you ladies can tell me about your drinking. Give me a few months and I'm going to want you to describe every sip haha...
I must say, TTC has done wonders for my wine drinking. I enjoy every sip in hopes that it's one of my last glasses. Fingers crossed I will be right one of these days!

This is so incredibly cute! Congrats to you and your husband on your expanding family!!! I'm sure it's killing you not to just shout it to the world! And don't worry, I'll always be lurking/participating on this board (what else am I supposed to do at work?!).
