where to stay in turks and caicos with kids ?
are looking to travel in april, at that time will have a 4 year old and 4 month old.
looking for convenience ... on the beach (preferably grace bay) ... with a kitchen and separate bedroom. not AI. could be a rental or resort or hotel.
also, if we plan to chill on the beach and in the pool, do we need a car?

Re: where to stay in turks and caicos with kids ?
thanks ... RWI is #1 on my list, do you think we need a rental car??
We just got back on Saturday from T&C. We stayed at the Veranda (which is AI, so not what you're looking for). But as far as car rental, I would suggest maybe a day or two of renting a car. I know that cabs are very expensive and are priced per person. I'd rent a car for the first 2 days - that way you avoid the taxi fare from the airport to the hotel and are easily able to stock up on groceries.
I'd take advantage of a second day with a car to explore the island a bit. I highly recommend going to Taylor Bay with children. First, it is absolutely beautiful. Second, it goes no higher than maybe 2.5 feet for a few hundred yards and is absolutely still. My girls loved playing it that water.
Other than that, I don't think there's really a need for a car, particularly if you're staying at RWI. It's pretty central and you should have plenty of restaurant choices and be close the shops and such. Here's a map of the island if you want a better idea of how it's laid out:

Happy planning!
