I found a plain Cheesecake Factory at Costco for Christmas eve. I want to serve it with some type of sauce or toppings, or maybe even several.
I know I can do chocolate sauce, but want something more fancy than Hershey's out of the jar.
I could also do a fruit of some sort- fresh would fine, but again I'm looking for a fancier sauce.
Since I bought the cheese cake, I'm willing to do homemade.
Any ideas?
Re: Cheesecake toppings
Make this Balsamic Strawberry Sauce. It is so easy, but decedent and fancy!
2 cups of chopped strawberries
1 cup of sugar
2 Tbl. of balsamic vinegar
Cook strawberries, sugar, and balsamic vinegar in a medium pan on med-high heat for about 10 minutes stirring occasionally. I usually eye-ball the thickness of the sauce to determine when it is done. When the sauce is the consistency of maple syrup on the back of your spoon, remove from heat and allow to cool. Serve warm or cool.
Then I would also just add a few more fresh strawberries on top as well.
This sounds delicious!
I'd probably make a ganache or hot fudge sauce (Mrs.Greeko posted a recipe) and maybe add a bowl of Nutella.
Yummy! This sounds exactly what I was looking for. How far in advance can I make this? Would a few hours before serving be ok?
I would make it the night before, just don't cook it down quite as thick. Then heat just before serving and reduce a bit more....it will save you time. Or make it all the way the night before and serve cold!
It is just as good cold....I find myself eating spoonfuls out of the fridge when I make it!!
Awesome! Thanks so much!
