Last minute stocking stuffer help...

Please? Pretty pretty please?

Men + stockings = suck.

My parents are coming out the first week in January. We're filling stockings but not gifts. I'm stuck on what to put in SO and my dad's stockings.

SO: My mom got him an iPhone case, car charger, and chopsticks (she begged me for a list so I finally gave her one for him and she picked those things up. I'm going to get him a wallet, butter fingers, peanut butter m&m's, small flash light, and finger nail clippers. I have no idea what else. Our stockings are pretty big.

My dad: Uhh.... no clue. Not a single one. He's outdoorsy and really low maintenance. He loves to bike ride but buys himself whatever he needs in that arena. I seriously don't know what to get him. I'm planning on getting some sugar babies and gummy bears but other than that I have no idea. Maybe a little flash light and some small pictures of DS.

Any ideas?

Re: Last minute stocking stuffer help...

  • My parents do the following for stockings:  lottery scratch tickets, little bottles of booze (when were of age to drink), candy, an orange, and trinkety stuff from places like Target's dollar spot, the dollar tree & big lots.
    no identifiable siggy pictures anymore, thanks a lot stupid nest!
  • Lotto tix!

    Magazines?

    Travel coffee cup?

    Bag of good coffee or tea?

    My hubby loves beef jerky.

    Biking socks for your dad?

    Head lamps?  Fashlights?

    Small Calendar?

  • This is what I got for DH and FIL

    DH: nose hair trimmer, underwear, computer mouse, xbox video game, wine topper that is also a decanter, Pittsburgh Steelers ornament, itunes gift card, How I meet your mother season 1 (he wants to start watching this series)

    FIL: Picture frame with a pic of him and his sons golfing, electric wine bottle opener, book (steve jobs biography), ski socks, and I am making him 2 types of fudge (he is a chocoholic)

  • I found some cubes of wine at Target that I am giving my sisters and dad. Boxers, socks, gum, chip clips, razors, candy. I'm about out of ideas too.

  • They are definitely not lottery people. I think my parents would side eye me like crazy. lol. It might be worth it just to see their looks :)

    You guys gave me some great ideas!

    Dad: Tiny bottle of booze, bicycling magazine, jerky, socks

    SO: Car magazine, underwear, iTunes gift card, framed pic of us
  • I know COMelissa used to get her DH stocking stuffers from Cost Plus World Market -- like little summer sausage and food that's good on hikes.  My DH isn't into that sort of thing but they had a lot of good options and seemed like a great idea to me!

  • You should also check out Restoration Hardware.  They usually have great stocking stuffers.

  • We have huge stockings to fill for the ILs so here's what we do:

    *  mints or gum

    *  lotto scratcher tickets

    *  stuff fruit in the bottom -- clementines and apples

    *  cans of nice coffee (Illy) and/or boxes of tea (chamomile is great for illness)

    *  bandaids -- you can find some fun camo ones at Target with the kids bandaids

    *   bottles of liquor or wine

    *  think food -- bags of fun pasta (Ikea has the moose-shaped pasta); jars of favorite kinds of jam; spice rubs and the like from Penzey's or Savory Spice Shop

    *  different kinds of candy -- Cost Plus is a fun place to grab some imported goods.

    *  tear-away page a day calendar

    *  picture frame

    *  travel WD-40 sizes

    *  travel lotion and such -- Target has the Gold Bond lotion with sanitizer in it which is an awesome option in the winter

    *  travel kleenex pouches
