Crochet gift for my Mom - suggestions?
Anyone have a favorite (also EASY!) pattern for something I can make for my Mom for Christmas? I was thinking maybe an infinity scarf or a cowl type scarf?
I've been on Ravelry and have seen a few, but was wondering if anyone here has a favorite they've made!
TIA!
Re: Crochet gift for my Mom - suggestions?
I'm currently making this http://theartofzencrochet.blogspot.com/2010/01/free-lacey-crochet-scarf-pattern.html
It's not an infinity or cowl type but it's a fairly easy scarf to make. I chose a slightly thicker yarn so my scarf doesn't look quite as lacy but it's nice.
I came up with this when I wanted to make an infinity scarf for myself last year. Since then my daughter and stepdaughter asked fr one and my mom asked for the pattern and has made herself one and she's now making them as gifts.
I-9 crochet hook
2 skeins of yarn (I used Red Heart Soft in Wheat)
Ch. 200
Row 1: Half double crochet in second chain from hook across.Row 2: Chain 2, turn, working in back loops only half double crochet in each half double crochet across.
Repeat Row 2 until the scarf reaches desired width. I did about 20 rows.
Finishing: If you prefer you can sew the ends together using a yarn needle or you can slip stitch the ends together.
