Re: Best Beauty Item

  • Under $5: Baby oil. I love to use this after a long bath or quick shower.

Under $10: a LUSH bath bomb. I forget the name of it. It smells like Lemongrass.Under $20: Fekkai shampoo

  • Under $5 -- Softlips lip balm; it's moist without being waxy and it's in a thin tube, which is great for my thin lips.

Under $10 -- Lush Jumping Juniper shampoo bar; it cleans my hair beautifully and is great for travelling because it's solid (no security issues).

Under $20 -- Aveeno Intense Relief Hand Cream; it helps keep my itchy skin at bay, and is a fast absorbing, non greasy lotion.

Almost everything I use is under $20; the only things that are not are Lush Fair Trade Foot Lotion and Mary Kay Oil-Free Hydrating gel.  I splurge on both, but I think it's acceptable because my other products are so cheap compared to what's out there.

under $10 - LUSH shampoo bar.  I'm currently using Squeeky Green.

  • Fun post.

Under 5: Toss up between carmex lip goo and apricot face scrub.

     Under 10:  Aveno Lotion

Under 20:  Wella's Birch Oil for cottage cheese.  I don't think it actually helps the cottage cheese, but I used it while preggers and no stretch marks and it keeps the skin super soft.

  • To the LUSH shampoo bar people- what kind of hair do you have? I'm intrigued, but have curly hair that needs lots of conditioning. A lot of shampoos dry my hair out and make it frizzy.

Anyway, I don't feel super attached to most of my beauty products. The thing I guess I've spent the most $ on and felt completely justified in doing so was Mama Mio Tummy Butter when I was pregnant. I didn't get a single stretch mark and it was also just about the only cream/general product that didn't have a scent that made me immediately gag while pregnant.

I use Jumping Juniper (the purple one for oily hair) and New (the cinnamon one) because I like the scents.  I find Lush shampoo bars to be less drying than other all-natural shampoos I have used.  I do not use conditioner, I find it leaves my hair heavy, sticky and greasy.  And I have never had a problem with frizzy hair, so I really can't say which would be best for you.  The Lush shop clerks really know their products, you may want to ask them about which one would be best for you.  I know there is at least on all-in-one shampoo & conditioner bar.
