Happy Monday!

Omg it's the last week before Christmas (and almost Hanukkah!) and I still have lots to do.  I was productive this weekend with Derek gone, but didn't get everything done.  But, I have a plan, so it's all good.

Last night after dinner we were laying on the couch watching Narnia and Derek got to feel his first kick from LO.  We both immediately looked at each other and started crying.  It was really neat.

Plans this week are to finish up everything that needs to be done!  Ha, purposely vague.  :)

How is everyone today?

Re: Happy Monday!

  • Raynes that is so cool about feeling a kick.

This weekend was a mixed bag.  Saturday I got up and ran a 5k. It was so cold and very hilly. It was a Christmas 5k and everyone wore Santa hats a few people ran in footie pajamas. I was very excited though I took 6.40 minutes off my last run which is a big deal for me ever since I hurt my ankle a few months ago.

Saturday afternoon my Dad came over and we went shopping for my Mom for Christmas. It's an annual tradition and this year I think was the best we had a great time.

BAD news... my hydraulic motor mount on my Mini is leaking. I found out yesterday on the anniversary of the day I got it. :( Boo. It's under warranty so it shouldn't be to bad. Still stinks though.

  • We have a tree!!  We put it up on Saturday, and it is amazing how much happier it made me Smile.  It's our first Christmas tree in at least three years, and it made the holidays seem a bit more real.

We also had our dinner party on Saturday night, which went so well.  I never got stressed with the prep, and everybody loved the food and had a great time.  Most of these friends are heading home for the holidays, so was nice to catch up with them beforehand.

This week, just a few more gifts to buy, but otherwise not too much going on.  Oh yeah, I also have to figure out what to eat for Christmas day dinner.  And then get groceries.

  • Raynes, how exciting about the kick! Eva, that's a fantastic shave off your 5K time, especially on a hilly course! :)

The weekend was good. On Friday Josh and I planned to meet up--I was on the train, reading, when some guy sat down next to me, invading my personal space way too much. But it was okay because it was Josh. ;) I love it when we end up on the same train. We then headed to a Cuban restaurant and had way too much to eat and drink.

Saturday was low key; got my review done and Josh worked on a job application. Sunday was more of the same, except we went to the gym and managed to successfully make ropa vieja for dinner.

Now to survive the short week. Have a great day, ladies!

  • Good morning everyone.  I can't believe it's Monday already.  Where did the weekend go?  Today, I'm not feeling well and am working from home.

Our weekend was pretty low key.  I read Sarah's Key on Friday evening.  I still can't believe I read the whole thing in one sitting.  I know some others have read it and just wondering if you enjoyed it as much as I did.

Saturday, we met up with our nephews and B's cousins for lunch to celebrate his cousin's birthday.

Hope everyone has a good day.

  • Morning.  I had booked today off a few months ago so I could make sure to work a massage in before Christmas since it's always so hard to get in with my lady with the holidays and her 3 day a week schedule.

I slept in this morning and slept pretty well except for my nightmare I had where Mark came to tell me that Winston had several accidents upstairs (since we blocked off the basement).  I'm so relieved that it was only a dream and he has behaved so far.  Fingers crossed that he's feeling better and stops with these problems.

Plans today include a run, a massage, some shopping, Christmas wrapping and making dinner.

  • Morning ladies.

I had a pretty busy weekend.  Saturday I went to my BFF's family Christmas party with the boys. It was a great time, and I was surprised at how well the boys behaved, and were not scared of everyone. It made things so much easier since DH wasn't there.

Sunday I went to DH's family Christmas which was a blast.  They boys had a great time opening gifts, and then playing with their new rocking Elmo.  The downfall, I think their damn cold is coming back. UGH.

Busy 3 day work week for me, but Wednesday afternoon can't get here soon enough.

    Have a great day ladies!

  • Kats - Hoping the boys feel better soon. We actually got a 2nd/3rd round here, too. Thankfully it's just a runny nose and a few coughs, but I really hoped this thing would be gone already. Ugh.

We got almost all of our shopping done this weekend. I think there's still just a shower head to pick up for my friend, which I had to talk her out of buying while we were shopping this weekend. Seriously? Stop taking all of my ideas. I think there's going to be a lot of returns this year since they keep buying things for themselves. So frustrating. Home Depot won't be crazy like the mall, so I can hit that up whenever. I think we're all done after that...can't remember. Thank you amazon for making my Christmas shopping 100x easier.

I'm getting ready to leave for 2 days to RI to see my mom, and picking up my brother at the airport on the way. So excited to get in some family time. My dad will be here on Friday and this is the first time he and my brother have met Jackson. Also the first boy on our side of the family. My brother has 3 girls.

I still have ornaments to make with Jackson for the grandparents (trying the clay..thanks Ringy and eva). Off to finish packing! Catch up in a few days ladies. Have a good week!

  • Good morning!

This weekend was great my MIL kept jordan and preston friday night so DH and I went to pick up a couple of things at walmart for the boys christmas. I went shopping with my bff on saturday to complete her christmas shopping and of course picked up a few things myself.

Sunday DH and preston hung out for a few hours while me and Jordan went and ate lunch and went to the movies.

I have a busy week ahead and lots to get done.

Tonight I am going to be baking cookies for jordan to take to school and for preston to take to daycare. I think I will go on and bake enough for DH to take to work and me to bring some to work also.

Jordan has his last 9 weeks test tomorrow so tonight is our last night of studying before the fun of christmas holidays begins.

  • Well, this week is off to a rough start.  My cold is still hanging around and I didn't get out of bed until after I was already supposed to be at work.  I have the motivation of a glacier to do anything work related.  If you can find me some energy, I'll take it.

I did a lot of baking this weekend and I have one more batch of cookies that I want to make this week.  Other than that, we don't have much planned for this week.  I need to print all my reservations, Groupons, Restaurant.com certificates, make packing lists and all that for our trip Sunday.

  • raynes, what a great story about your little guy's kick!

eeeva, great job on the 5K!

My weekend was good. I got a few gifts wrapped and most of the cards in the mail. We also had a great Christmas party with some of our friends. The weekend definitely wasn't long enough though.

This week I decided to work all week. I'm really beginning to regret that decision now though. Almost all of my coworkers will be taking off at least Thursday and Friday. It will be nice that it will be quiet and I can get stuff accomplished, but I'm already thinking about how nice it would be to be at home. This week I really just need to finish up the last minute Christmas stuff: wrapping gifts, packing, baking and cooking.

  • Happy Monday, ladies.

A little holiday cheer in our house - my daughter's BF went to WalMart to pay off his layaway, and someone had anonymously paid it for him.  He's a nice guy, and doesn't have a lot of money, so it made me very happy that someone did that.

  • LesPaul I heard about people paying off people's layaway at Kmart. I would love to do that for someone. I'm glad it happened to him. :)
