Duplicate Gifts... what do you do?

Generally, if it's something for me then I have no issues making a return... normally, I can tell where it's from, etc.

But, when it comes to LO the grandparents/gift-givers usually expect him to open it and play with it right away... so what do you do?

Re: Duplicate Gifts... what do you do?

  • Say thank you, let them play with it and then donate one.

  • If the gift has to be opened or risk hurt feelings, we'll open it and then either decide if two of the same thing is worth it, or find someone who could use our duplicate.
  • We usually leave the duplicate at my parents house since we spend a lot of time there.

Warning No formatter is installed for the format bbhtml
  • We try not to open anything (oh we'll lose pieces!  we don't want to leave you with the mess!). If it's not possible, then we do what Nicole said, we try to leave it at a Grandma house so we can use it there.
