I got a French Press for Christmas from a friend yesterday. Holy delicious! I can't wait to pick up some more coffee (we ran out yesterday) for tomorrow morning.
It was a lot warmer than I thought it would be this morning. 45 degrees? Wow.
Re: Monday Randoms
The weather has been lovely lately.
I have a 4 day work week this week. Not sure how I am going to survive it though. I wish it was still the weekend!
This weather is phenomenal! I want to go for a run (surprise, surprise) but I fell hard on Friday and my knees are still bashed up.
I might go anyway...

Sorry to hear about your banged up knee. ouch!
I went to BFF's family Christmas party this weekend. She gave me a necklace, her Mom gave me a new bathrobe and eye shadow and her Aunt gave me fuzzy slipper socks. Her Mom "adopted me as her other daughter" and her Aunt calls me her 2nd favorite niece. It was a nice time.
SS is home for the next 2 weeks on Winter Break, they don't call it Christmas break anymore.
GRK...OUCHIE!
Deedeer...that is so cool! That must have made you feel good.
It did! Ryan and Gabe were invited too but they wanted me to feel it out before they go to one. That family only does the really big Christmas' every other year because everyone is spread so far out.
Total boo.
I have Friday and Monday, and then the following Monday off. Not enough!!!
Same here. Boss thinks that we need to work the day after both Christmas & New Years.
Confession: H and I exchanged gifts last night, and we also had T open up his gifts from us/Santa.
We have no patience, whatsoever.
Aww. What are you going to do on Christmas morning now?
Hi all!
We had a great time in Chicago for the weekend. I loved seeing my family. However, we had a major diapering issue! remember how I asked for diaper size advice? Well I came armed with size 2 pampers. After 3 pee leaks (leg holes) and 2 poo explosions, I gave up. (He was never in one for more then 2 hrs before it would leak!) I had to find a cloth diapering store and went there and bought enough to get us through the weekend. I don't think I am ever going to attempt disposables again. I think J just has a werid build, he needs the heavy duty elastic to contain things.
Spend it with my mom, who got T more gifts than we did. Ha.
Sounds like the sz 2's were too big.
What a bummer! How strange, too. We've never had any issues like that.
Tennyson is making Christmas cookies at daycare.
I'm kinda hoping he gets to take some home, too.
I think they were both too big and too small at the same time. LOL. They were too big in the leg openings and around the waist (I couldn't get them tight enough). But they were too short in the rise. He would almost have baby plumbers crack.
Thankfully we were staying at my brothers place and I could easily do wash.
That is awesome
That is strange and totally crappy (pun intended ha!). R is not a regular pooper (sorry TMI), so when she does one, it's a doozie and we rarely have explosions.
Hello. We had Christmas at my parents' yesterday. It was a very Pinterest Christmas yesterday.
I made this broccoli yesterday: http://www.amateurgourmet.com/2008/11/the_best_brocco.html
Oh, yum!
We bought my mom some new casserole dishes, and etched their last name and est. 1941 to go along with the 40th anniversary year. Mom cried out of her one good eye (and wore a patch on the newly fixed eye).

The kids and I made reindeer thumbprint ornaments. And then all of the grandkids made a handprint canvas for my parents.

I am really annoyed with work today. First I get a stupid email about my change of Happy Holidays, and now I'm finding out that we aren't working Dec. 26 or Jan 2 by scrolling through a forwarded email (forward was not about days off). WTF? Wouldn't people here think I'd like to know this information? Why the f*ck and I always the last person to know something? There have been numerous times where someone will be asking me about something and wonder why I have a "Huh?" look on my face and say "Didn't you get that email?" Um...no. F*ck you coworkers.
/end rant.
WOP, that's so frustrating! Are most of those kinds of emails generated from one person? Maybe you could ask him/her to be sure you're on that distribution list?
I've spent the last hour trying to get dry erase marker out of a rug (still blotting), and getting Henry wound down from a fit about me asking him to wash his hands. Sometimes my life is ridiculous.
No, they're from all different people, that's what makes it suck even more.
Hey all!
We also celebrated 2 family Christmas's yesterday. I wore stretchy pants to both because I do what I want. I think I eat more at Xmas than at Thanksgiving.
All went well at both - gifts were enjoyed by the kiddos which is really the best part of it all - watching the kids excitment opening their gifts.
We also overnight babysat the nephew (just turned 2) on Friday night. He officially wins the award for "Easiest Going Child Ever." He didn't cry once. He ate everything we fed him, laid perfectly still when changing his dirty diaper, went to bed/nap easy, etc. He'd entertain himself with toys when I had to do things (fix lunch, clean, etc.) and never fussed for attention. He also entertained himself also by giving G a kiss and hug, then Toby a kiss and hug, and repeating about 20 times, so that's around the time my heart blew up.
He sounds like a great kid!
Ha - you'd get my vote!
I certainly think so. :-) And ya know, my bro and sis-and-law are definitely good parents, but I think so much is just their natural temperament. I had to remind Andy that all kids are not this easy. I just hope I've got those genes to pass onto any future kids we may have.
I totally agree.
I think I got very lucky. T has a great (though not perfect) temperament. He's pretty laid back and happy most of the time.
