Let's share. What's on the travel agenda for 2012?
Re: Upcoming Trips
The only thing we've got planned is a trip to Myrtle Beach in late April/early May. We'll be there for our 5th anniversary. We are bringing Tennyson too.
(Side note, this will be T's 6th state visit (not counting MI). Only 43 left to see!
)
Nothing else has been planned yet.
Yay, I love these threads!
That said, I have no booked trips for 2012.
We're thinking about going to Florida to visit my cousin for a long weekend this winter. I'm not sure if that will happen, though.
We're also still thinking about going to Europe later in the year! After Christmas, I need to tackle the travel books/sites and figure out if we're going to make a go of it. The biggest hurdle to planning is narrowing down the fact that I want to see everything, to 2-3 doable destinations. And that is going to take some spreadsheets.
I have a Surprise trip in 2012 to see my BFF off when she leaves for Basic training. She doesn't know that her Aunt and I are driving out to send her off.
We think that it will be this summer.
Just New Zealand in a few days. :-) We have nothing else booked for 2012, I think we'll be staying closer to home next year.
I will go to Virginia and North Carolina to visit friends at some point.
Atlantic City and New Orleans have been tossed around as potential long weekend getaways.
Potentially Portland, Oregon for a friend's wedding in the Fall.
That's about it - it's possible things will get added to the calendar of course but we're really not planning to travel much next year.
April = Toledo, OH (marathon)
May = Colorado (marathon)
Late May = Traverse City (spectating at marathon)

What? I don't believe you! Kids aren't expensive at all.
Yeah, our trip to Myrtle Beach is going to be verrrrry cheap. The room is free and I'm hoping to get a really good deal on airfare. I'm thinking we won't need to rent a car (I think there is a lot to do within walking distance.) And the condo has a kitchen so we won't have to eat out for every meal.
T has defintely put a crimp in our traveling style, but it's ok, he's worth it.
Hey there!
We are going to Jamaica next year for our anniversary- sorta. We only got to hit Vegas for a couple of days for our honeymoon due to my school schedule so we decided to do it big for the first one.
Bryan's mentor is building a B&B down there and will give us a discount. Our parents's anniversaries are a few weeks before and after ours so, we're all going to go down. Hopefully we will bring in the new year on the beach!
I would like to do a weekend in Chicago too. We'll see. If not, no biggie :-)
Haha. We need to build our savings back up before we take any major trips (my maternity leave put a good dent in it). There are too many things around the house that I would rather have fixed instead of traveling too. A furnace, new countertops, curtains for the living room, new rug, and a new fridge....all things that are waaayyy more important than a week in Mexico to me right now. I just want my house to be DONE. Plus I would like to pay off my car. Different priorities I guess
We have a trip to Gatlinburg planned over my spring break. We also have a long weekend planned up at Boyne for the weekend after spring finals. We would also like to go somewhere for our anniversary over Memorial Day weekend, but nothing set and it might depend on work schedule.
I imagine that we'll go somewhere next year at Christmas as well. At this point we'd like to spend a week up at Boyne but it's not booked yet.
