My ornament was sent and delivered to an address on my street that I didn't even know existed. I discovered that #26 was an actual address this morning, when purposely looking for it as I drove to work.
It's a really sketchy looking multi-unit apartment. The police are often at the unit in the back on the left - now known as #24. #26 looks pretty run down too - kid's bike still on the front porch, etc.
I was asking the girls at work (we're legal assistants for the criminal prosecution office), and someone said if it were her package, her husband (a cop) would just go right over. My husband isn't that helpful.
I jokingly asked her to send her husband over, but he works 2 towns away. The conversation then turned to who we could send over, and we came up with the very social, very helpful Detective Sergeant P. We called him and explained the situation, asking if he knew anything about the people at 26, and if they were as sketchy as the building looks from the outside. He then offered to go get my package back and bring it to me at work!!
About 15 minutes later, my ornaments were hand-delivered by Dover's finest.
Apparently there are 2 apartments at #26, and apt 1 realized it wasn't correctly delivered, and left it for apt 2 who hadn't even brought it inside yet.
Yay for knowing the right people for once! I never have "connections." And YAY for my beautiful ornaments, thanks SweetPea!
Re: my ornament's adventure....
YAY! What a relief!
When DH and I were getting married, one of his OOT family members sent our presents to us way before the wedding and I was in the process of moving out of my apartment. So UPS delivered three HUGE boxes from BB&B and left them in the stairwell of my building. The boxes, obviously, were not there when I got home despite UPS saying that they had been delivered. About a week (and several fights with UPS later), the boxes eventually showered up, opened, back in the stairwell. BB&B had already resent the items and wrote off the cost of the items, so they didn't want any of it back. But it certainly was a pain in the tush.
ugh... I am soooooo sorrry!! I was currently in the process of reordering them! I am so glad you got them back!
Say thank you to Detective Sergeant P. for me and my mommy brain!
