Decorate This
Someone's getting a little brother!
Getting some sewing projects underway and having an end in site with them
Lows?Spending 14+hrs on Saturday prepping and sewing and another multiple hrs on Sunday between and after morning and evening church sewing
Do any fun holiday/winter activities? Not this weekend, I was too busy. DH did take DD to the tree farm his guys work out during the winter. She came home with dirt in her nails and all over her, with cookie remnants on her face...i think she approved of her afternoon.
If you celebrate Christmas, is your shopping done?Heck to the no
Eat/make anything good?No
Watch anything good?I don't know that I watched anything this weekend.
Read anything good?no
AW's, Vents, FFCs, Observations?Vent: DD is appearing sick again. I don't have time for any of us to be sick. I'm so exhausted between work, Christmas and home. I procrastinated so much, that I'm so behind. Boss thinks I have time for a meeting 1+hr away tomorrow, with an estimated time range from 2-8p (including dinner after meeting)...so home late. I'll either be hand sewing in the car or not going. I really want to go, but I think for my sanity, I'm going to have to gracefully decline. I have nothing for DH for Christmas. I'm soooo behind on everything! Shew!
FFC: "fighting" on fb is ridiculous
What are you looking forward to this week?Sleep on Saturday. I'm hoping DD sleeps in and I'm planning to have no plans on Saturday AM. In a perfect world, everything will be pretty much finished. I want to go see DH's gma in the nursing home but that's it.
Highs? A little time with friends, a little time with family - it was a nice mix.
Lows? I've got a bad case of the winter gloomies.
Do any fun holiday/winter activities? DD and I did some baking last night.
If you celebrate Christmas, is your shopping done? I just need to order some prints for a collage frame for my Dad, but otherwise, yes, I finished it up last night. Some stuff might not be delivered in time, and that irritates me, but it's my own fault.
Eat/make anything good? At my Godson's birthday party we had "crack sandwiches" - the mini ham & cheese sandwiches that are awesome. We also had SnOMG egg rolls, as they're dubbed, homemade egg rolls that my girlfriend makes.
Watch anything good? I watched "The Help" and the new Smurfs movie and enjoyed both a lot. Oh, and I watched last week's Dexter and this week's finale - Holy cow! And I watched two back episodes of Homeland and am watching the finale now. I love these shows.
Read anything good? I didn't pick up a single book this weekend.
AW's, Vents, FFCs, Observations? Eh. I don't have the energy to put it all down.
What are you looking forward to this week? I'm meeting my Dad for lunch today, which will be a nice treat. I'm looking forward to finishing my baking and getting the house clean. DH took Friday off, so I'm looking forward to spending the day together, and that night I'm going to see Carbon Leaf in Annapolis.
Lows? DH was away most of the weekend, my grandfather was in a sad mood when we went to visit him at the nursing home
Do any fun holiday/winter activities? Just finishing holiday shopping.
If you celebrate Christmas, is your shopping done? YES!!
Eat/make anything good? When I visited my family yesterday, we got pizza from my FAVORITE place, Ercole's. I'm salivating just thinking about it.
Watch anything good? Breaking Dawn, Dexter and Homeland season finales
Read anything good? Nope
AW's, Vents, FFCs, Observations? I love spending time with family, but the holidays run us ragged. We have FIVE places to go over the holidays and it gets to be so exhausting. We spent a lot more on gifts this year than I'd anticipated. My bonus won't be as good as it was last year b/c we didn't do as well as we did last year, but I am grateful to be getting something.
What are you looking forward to this week? Hopefully it will be slow at work!! Getting my baking done and handed out to my work people, spending time with DH since he was away a lot of last week, and getting insulation!! We have literally ZERO in our 1940s crawlspace, and we are going up to R32 I think. Should really help with heating.
Dexter = C.R.A.Z.Y. Such an evil cliffhanger!! I love Homeland. It's one of the best shows on TV right now. Great finale!
I loved the Dexter finale! There's folks on the Entertainment board claiming that they knew it was coming and it wasn't a cliffhanger to them, but I didn't expect it at all. I was saying "oh no! oh no! oh no!" for the last 2 minutes of the show.
I'm watching Homeland now. I can't wait to see how it wraps up!
I totally didn't see it coming. The Deb thing, or the DEB thing. You know what I mean. Hope you like the Homeland finale!
I DEFINITELY didn't see *that* coming! I'm torn on how I feel about it. My first reaction is "ick!" but then I think about it and can see it.
Finished Homeland and I'm glad it wasn't as, er, explosive, as I thought it might be. I'd miss him going forward! It's such an excellent show, I'm going to miss it between the seasons!
Highs? We took DS to Valley View Farms to looks at the trees and maybe get him a little ornament. He was in AWE and I loved his expressions at all the different things.
Lows? We are super low on money and it has made things super stressful at our house.
Do any fun holiday/winter activities? just watched some DVR 25 days of Christmas!
If you celebrate Christmas, is your shopping done? Nope--I have got to wait until this week when I get paid and then I will be that person who has to shop on Christmas Eve. Next year, I am literally starting in June.
Eat/make anything good? A crab cake from Box Hill. They are always yummy.
Watch anything good? finally catching up on Dexter season 5
Read anything good? Nope
AW's, Vents, FFCs, Observations? I have 2 vents...1) When family members come over and you know their house is not even Martha Stewart worthy, but they comment on mine. It drives me NUTS! 2) When people make plans with me, cancel, but then I see on FB..going here or going there or can't wait to meet with this person. Don't make plans with me, if you are going to tell me that you stood me up (in a sense
What are you looking forward to this week? After this Friday I have off until the 3rd which means LOTS of time with my little love bug
Congrats! This sounds like the past month of my life... let the fun begin :-)
Highs? Finally saw a lot of friends this weekend after spending much of our free time in the last month painting.
Lows? I didn't get everything accomplished that I wanted too... oh well, story of my life. The fun times were worth it.
Do any fun holiday/winter activities? I ran in the Celtic Solstice 5-miler and my friend and I wore candy cane socks.
If you celebrate Christmas, is your shopping done? No but I only have like 3 more presents to get... I made a good dent in my shopping at the liquor store today ;-)
Eat/make anything good? Cookies... my fave has been the turtle cookies from my friend who is a pastry chef!
Watch anything good? Selling Spelling Manor on HGTV, ha! It was actually fascinating!
Read anything good? The best thing I read was my aunt's funny Christmas letter.
AW's, Vents, FFCs, Observations? It took me until this weekend to get into the holiday spirit... now only the smallest part of me would like to sleep through the holidays. And I feel bad about not putting up a tree this year... but we will seriously spend about 2 hours at our own house from sunup Christmas Eve to sundown Christmas Day, so I don't see the point. I only put up lights so our new neighbors would not think we are grinches.
What are you looking forward to this week? Even though this weekend is going to be a whirlwind, I know it is going to be awesome. I am actually looking forward to wrapping presents so I am saving it all for Friday morning.Haha yeah, I didn't feel like they'd ever go there. I had the same reaction, but am definitely curious to see where things go from here. Esp since it doesn't seem like Dexter thinks that way.
And ditto, I was thinking "is that what the format of this show is going to be? Every season a new "enemy," like Dexter?" I was glad to see that that wasn't the case. It's going to be so hard to wait for both shows to come back!
