update on pretzels

I had chocolate covered pretzels for breakfast. They were the perfect combo of salt and sweet.

I effed them up the first time but luckily didn't waste too much.

I used a double boil with a saucepan and metal dish. Stirred a lot with a spatula. The hardest part was figuring out how to dip the pretzel sticks in them and make them pretty. I ended up rolling them in the chocolate.

So my test batch = good. I'm going to go buy some jimmies/sprinkles to decorate the next batch.

  • I love love love Chocolate covered pretzels.

One year I made them using the rods.  Dipped in all kinds of "sprinkles" (broken candy canes, peanuts, mini chocolate chips)

Candy canes!! You break them up and sprinkle them on. Gives a delicious peppermint taste.

  • I ended up using the long pretzel rods. I sort of twirled them in the chocolate. I'd like to do a little white chocolate drizzle on top but that might be overkill.

  • I love them with the white chocolate drizzle.  They look pretty, and taste great...def' not overkill.
