Office Xmas gift

One of my coworkers just gave me a $50 gc to Target. Although very generous, I'm not too sure what to do. I said thank you & told him how generous it was.
To be honest, I was hoping I was off the hook for office Christmas gifts since I will be away.

    $50 from a co-worker Indifferent  Dang that's a lot.  Back when I worked in an office, I never did anything over $10-$15.  I don't know what I would do either - it's kind of akward.

    Good, I'm glad you find that a little ridiculous too. I don't want to sound ungrateful, but I thought it was a lot. So now what?

    Were you the only one to receive a gift or something similar?  I'd bake some cookies when I got back and give them to him a thank you note.

    Okay, WTF, another coworker just gave me a $25 gc to dunkin donuts. I'm going to go broke here! I bought her a milkshake the other day & told her merry Christmas. Does that still count? Gah!

    Lol, how awkward! I hate when stuff like that happens. And wow- $50 is ridiculous! I would have probably just profusely thanked both people and been like "I'm so sorry but I don't have anything for you, I didn't know we were exchanging gifts!!"... Idk :?
