5 days until Christmas... are you ready?

With Christmas literally just around the corner, what all do you have left to get done or are you completely ready?

We've already had Christmas with my family, and the gifts for Mr. Sookie's family have been mailed out and are on their way to them. We've bought the dogs their gifts (yes, we're those people), and we're each almost done with each gifts for each other. Other than finishing the last of Mr. Sookie's gifts, I just need to figure out what we'll be eating on Christmas.

I think I lucked out with gifts this year. Since I started selling Scentsy, we gave our niece and nephew Scentsy Buddies and our parents warmers and scents, along with a few other things. I also got my sister jewelry (chunky, Texas-y jewelry for her AG shows) and his parents got a clay shooter. It was a random gift giving season, but it's been good. Smile

Re: 5 days until Christmas... are you ready?

  • I'm taking two packages to the post office today and mailing off some money to my sister. I still need to pick up a spa gift card for a facial/massage for a friend.

I don''t know if I bought the dogs enough for xmas. I may stop at petsmart and pick up some last minute squeakies since it's just me and the pups this year.

  • I have everything wrapped and under the tree. The only thing I really have left to do is a quick clean through the house on Wednesday before my parents get here. This is their first Christmas traveling to our house (we usually go there) so I want it to be really comfortable for them. Feeling a little stressed out but I'm sure it'll be a good time.

Oh I still have to go Christmas Eve and Day grocery shopping. I'm waiting until the last minute, Wednesday again LOL

  • I'm done with shopping.  I'm waiting for all of my Amazon orders to come in and I just need to wrap everything.

I *had* wrapped everything I'd already bought for the Mr., but I get to re-wrap one of the items because two cute 4 legged babes decided to tear the paper off. Luckily, he didn't see what was in it.

Oh no LOL Darwin has actually left everything alone this year. I'm both shocked and grateful :D

  • I need to wrap gifts and finish my baking. Poor DH, he's been struggling with trying to decide what to get me for Christmas and I have zero suggestions that are within our budget. I don't collect knick-knacks, I've got a book list a million miles long and counting since I get so many free ones, and what I want is a vacation or other things that you really can't put a price tag on. Except perfume and shoes, and he refuses to buy me perfume or shoes. ::::sigh::::

    Sorry babe. You're just SOL.

  • I think this is my last year of not feeling guilty for my minimalist ways, so I'm doing NOTHING.  I've got a few boxes packed for care packages and still need to print the labels, but other than that, nada.  No tree, no decorations, no guests, just me and the three wise dogs and I couldn't be more thrilled.

I *might* go out and buy the silicone ice cube trays I picked out for the dogs.  They get a squash puree ice cube and a yogurt ice cube after their meals and I think it'd be fun to give them little fish shapes.

  • We celebrated Christmas at our house yesterday. We are traveling to NY on Friday to see family and I didn't want to lug DH's and LO's presents on the plane, so we did Christmas a week early.

All of our other gifts were bought online and shipped to my sister's house in NY so I wouldn't have to lug those either. I just have to wrap them when I get there on Friday.

  • Eh, not really. But I don't have much to get. We are spending Xmas with my fam, and we are only doing a white elephant type gift (game themed) since no one has much money. We got some restaurant gift cards to send to H's family today. I know what I'm getting H, I just need to pick it up. It's going to be a small christmas. But I'm not too into going crazy crazy for Christmas and all.

  • Just two presents left to buy. Considering the size of our families, that is a major accomplishment! Unfortunately, we still have to wrap everything. And since I was being "smart" and had half of the gifts mailed to my parents' house so we wouldn't have to pack them, I'll be wrapping on Christmas Eve. Oh well.

I can't believe Christmas is really almost here! Where did the year go?

  • I have everything bought except for BIL. He is SO hard to shop for. I have about 50% of my wrapping done. I need to pick up a few stocking stufferes for my Dad and for brother but other than that I'm done.

  • I finished shopping and wrapping weeks ago! M and I exchanged gifts last week since his sister would be coming to town and we thought it would be awkward to open our gifts in front of her.

  • Since DH is deployed, I'm just not into Christmas this year.  I put a few decorations out, and the only reason I put up our tree is for LO (who doesn't seem to appreciate it and has destroyed it. ha).  The gifts are wrapped and I mailed everyone's packages weeks ago.  It will be a nice, quiet day filled with cinnamon buns and chinese food with just DD, me, and our dog.

  • The gifts for friends and family have been shipped, Little Man's gifts and stocking stuffers are purchased and wrapped. I have a pretty good idea of what we're doing for Christmas dinner, and the house is well on its way to being clean for company. I'll do my baking after my mom gets here and can wrangle Little Man for me.

Really the only big thing left is figuring out what the HECK to get C. I hate shopping for him. /sigh.

  • I am soooooo not ready. I have one day off between now and my ILs getting here on Friday. I need to clean the house, get the guest room ready, finish wrapping gifts, put up the last couple decorations, and find something else to buy for MIL.
  • I cannot believe Christmas is less than a week away. We finished the last bit of our Christmas shopping this past weekend. I still haven't gotten anything for my niece but I'm waiting until I go home to take her to the store to pick something out, she said the only thing she wanted was a $200 cell phone(she's 12) but that's not happening. My FIL should arrive later this week so I just have to clean the house a little and that will be it! We're all going to my families a few days after Christmas so I'll have to lug a few gifts with us, bleh.

  • From the gift perspective, yes.  From actually having my condo ready for guests on Friday and beyond, nope.

Little by little I'm tackling the projects.  Today is organizing the bookshelves and getting rid of extra books.  It's dusty and gross and taking far too long.  We have twice as many books as we have space in this smaller-than-last apartment.  Until I can get that fixed up, there's no space for the rest of the unpacking.

H's birthday is before xmas, so my deadline to get it done is earlier.  Boo.

  • YUp, Even Santa's gifts are wrapped.  All I need is to figure out if I am going to cook anything here or what.

  • Waiting for a few things from amazon to get here. Getting ingredients for fruitcake (gross but my dad wants one) and Christmas cookies, some more wrapping paper and a few gift cards tonight. I also need to figure out what we are wearing for pictures on Thursday night. I'm a little stressed lol
