Southern France in late March/April?
Does anyone have experience/advice about traveling to the South of France (Provence, Aix, St. Tropez, etc) in late March or early April? I have a few carryover vacation days that need to be used in Q1, but I'm unsure about weather, finding things closed or just missing out on some of the experience because of being a little too early in the shoulder season.

L'isle Sur la Sorgue, Provence
You'll be a little further West than we were (Cannes, Antibes, Nice) but the weather was great around that time. Sometimes chilly enough to still wear a light sweater, but not need a jacket, or warm enough for shorts. We weren't at the beaches until May. In our area, just about everything was open year round.
We did go to St Tropez in late February and it was closed up tighter than a drum (but it was a gorgeous drive from Antibes). The St Tropez season starts in mid/late April and really gets going in early May.
