The contractors have been at our house since last Monday working on the basement since we had all that water damage back in October. Last week the dry wall guy was a test of my patience since he never showed up on time and took 2 hour lunches but he's nothing compared to the two assh*les who are here now to paint the walls.
They've been bitching about the way the baseboards were put up and the walls being uneven (the ones that came w/ the house not the new ones). He called me down to b*tch no less than 3 times yesterday. I'm working!! Then he shows up late this morning and rings the doorbell 5 times (dingdong, dingdong, dingdong, dingdong, dingdong). I had JUST put the baby down for a nap. Aside from general professionalism, they know we have a baby...why the f*ck would you do that?
We've had other problems with the contractor USAA picked and they'll be hearing about it when it's all said and done.
Re: I'm Going to Flip My Sh*t
Are they getting paid a flat rate for the job or are they spreading out the work to run up the hourly charge?
I hate doorbells. They should all be smashed into tiny pieces.
I'm not sure how the workers are being paid but I know USAA is paying them a flat rate for the whole job.
I'm going to put a big fat sign on it tomorrow. RING ONCE!
Stories like this make me so glad my doorbell is broken. Has been since we moved in over 3 years ago and with a baby on the way am glad to keep it that way.
I'm sorry the contractors are a$$holes. Definitely be sure to tell USAA exactly what you thought of these idiots.
Man I'm sorry it's such a hassle! Lame
On the doorbell thing... I have a 5 yo neighbor that kicks his soccer ball in my backyard sometimes. He will ring the doorbell repeatedly until I answer. Kind of sad a grown man is acting like a 5 yo, no? Seriously pathetic.
Can you complain about them on a site like Angie's List or something? Or are they contracted through USAA and couldn't care less?
I'm sure they do other work outside of USAA contracts. The quality of the work so far (just the framing, drywall & sanding) hasn't been too bad but these people are just jackalopes.
I'm in your anti-doorbell club as well. If we didn't have a self-locking door to the building I'd wish ours to be broken as well because it's a buzzer type that rivals any smoke alarm in decibels.
Absolutely let USAA know how terrible all these guys are acting! Hopefully it won't take too much longer to finish the job.
I'd still complain about them. You can do decent work but if you're unprofessional and rude, people aren't going to want to hire you.
For reals. It's like I tell L, leave your attitude at the door.
